Every time I land in Beirut sooner or later I do a variably long pit-stop at the Souks. They have been impeccably restored after the sad conflicts and they are now a cozy and stimulating milieu to enjoy.

Lots of cafes (best espresso definintely at Casper & Gambrini), various types of restaurants and shopping for all taste with full range of quality and prices. It is ideal if you want to escape from smoky closed places and have a stroll, windows-exploring and just chill for a bit.

I love the regeneration project going on in central beirut and this is part of it. The renovation mixed the old local architectural style with a modern twist. Very neat! The shopping is very good too. Designer and regular stores distributed over 2 floors .
I went there in christmas so the decoration was awesome and made the place very warm and jolly.

Till now i try to find a reason to visit, and I simply can't. A mix of overprice retailers with underpriced ones, a supermarket, and no space for the kids (except a parking lot for rent a bike!!!). For the millions of dollars spent there, one could have expected better variety, space, interesting things, a theatre, (nit a supermarket!!!!).
