Had dinner there in October 2012.Atmosphere was great, food was great, you will pay dearly for the meal which doesn't seem to end. From the start breads, assortment of goodies served before you even ordered there was complete attention throughout the evening. They kept bringing out food.Finishing with chocolates and fruit and then asking if you would like dessert. Only reason it is four stars instead of five is the crazy price.

The meal at "Mounir" is a real lebanese experience since you leave ur hotel/accomodation heading towards it. The restaurant is located uphill overlooking Beirut city. the road uphill is full of scenery and interesting route is full of spots where you can view the city from different angles.

The restaurant is huge, we have been there during Adha Eid vacation for lunch,..it was full but we were lucky enough to have a small table at the view.

The view is astonishing and food is amazing,...tried several appetizers and main courses, had the dates, cream and honey dessert,.....the whole food is amazing.

The service is wonderful,, our waiter "Riad Naim" thanks to him as he added fun and true meaning of hospitality to our meal.

Me and my wife took a decision that whenever we go to beirut,..dining at Mounir is a pre determined item in itenerary.

Is a must go....highly recommended.

Food may be good, nice view, but zero ambiance. Grand entrance but mediocre decor. Hundreds of people seated at (usually) long tables on a huge terrace. The only sounds you hear are chattering and the clinking of knives and forks as people eat. Even the lighting at night is an ugly faded florescent. For a renowned restaurant like Mounirs to have the atmosphere and appearance of a school cafeteria is unacceptable. There are other restaurants that serve exquisite Lebanese food with decor and atmosphere to match.

That was my second time I went to this restaurant, and I would defiantly go again. The place is located in the mountain with an amazing view overlooking Beirut city and the sea.

We called ahead to make reservation in the same day, since it was the Adha holidays but the restaurant could not grant us a table however they recommended that we pass by and checkout availability. When we arrived, the restaurant was extremely busy, we were welcome and seated in no time in a table with a view.

We ordered our mezza and main dishes, mezza was served in a few minutes, excellent quality (although it was not the best patata harra I had in Lebanon, but all the rest was very good), another few minutes, our mashawy dishes (kebab and kofta) came and we indulged ourselves in a food feast.

The service was just over the top, there must have been over 400 people having lunch at the same time, but our waiter Reyad made us feel we were the only people there, very welcoming ,sweet and attentive, made recommendations, got us our food in no time considering the big crowd.

The restaurant is specialized mainly in Lebanese food, no other pasta or burger dishes. They also offer local wine. Average cost per person was $50 (we ordered at least 2 mezza per person and a main course plus drinks) a bit on the expensive side if compared to other Lebanese restaurant but totally worth it.

It is so busy during holidays and weekends, so make sure you make a reservation ahead.

The combination of the excellent food, charming view, and the mountain fresh air made it a brilliant experience.
