They have excellent choice of bread, exactly like at any french bakery in Paris. Service in their Achrafieh branch is nice, never tried the one in Hamra, prices are reasonable.

First of all the Bread Republic company is a (small) restaurant as well as a bakery (separate).
The bakery suggests to sell high class bread in many different varieties. This is no ordinary bakery because when you're on your shopping rounds going in the Bread Republic to buy bread an unpleasant surprise awaits you. They are always sold out. After a couple of the fruitless trips, they suggested to me to order in advance! They do however suggest on the spot to take some of their bread rolls displayed on the counters in big baskets. They play it safe.
Lucky for us, more and even better bakeries have started appearing in Beirut and beyond.

Lethargic staff, unreliable production. You might get the bread you want (maybe) if you order well in advance.

Bread Republic was our go-to spot for working while having an espresso or glass of wine or for a casual, airy dinner. The food was great, the service fantastic (they had no problem with you sitting for hours working) and the environment chill during the day and lively at night. The prices were pretty standard for Beirut. Only complaint was the spotty wifi, but that is a Beirut issue more than a Bread Republic one.

Horrible experience – the food here is pretty, everything tasted fresh and great flavor, unfortunately it all sums up to nothing because of the extremely bad service. First glass of wine served 10 minutes after first dish – off to a very bad start. All in all a very bad experience that totally overshadows the beautiful food. The place has maybe 20 tables and only 1 waitress was working as well as bussing the tables.
if you are in Hamra go T marboota, there are so many good choices...
