Hi, as a professional Journalist traveling extensively through the world I am always for cheap though nice accommodations. And with the Talal Hotel I found it!

You can start getting a sleeping price for 10$ in a dormitory. The place is clean, the people really nice and you can use the kitchen for cocking. If you have any questions regarding the city, transportation or anything in-between than the employees of the Hostel are happy to help you out.

The Talal is easy to reach from the Airport (check out the public Bus, it is far cheaper than taking a cab) and you can walk to the "party areas" as well as the old city center of Beirut without any problems.

There should be more places like this out there in the world - keep on this great work Talal.

Ps: Be sure and make a reservation before you travel to Beirut as sometimes the place is fully booked out.

The hotel was located on a very strategic position, near both Gemayze street and downtown (10 minutes walk). The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. We had interesting discussion with them regarding the political situation in Lebanon. We stayed in a shared room, and have no complains about it. Perhaps the only thing missing was a common "hang-out" area, but there were plenty of bars near for that purpose. The room was clean and the mattress comfortable. In conclusion, the ratio quality/price is probably the best you can find.

Room Tip: Rooms which are not facing the street are quieter.

The staff welcomed us in a very friendly way, they even offered us drinks. The hotel is really well situated in the city, it just takes 5 minutes walking to arrive to the parliament in the city center. Everything in the room was clean, AC working perfectly, hot water in the shower, etc. In few words, it is well worth the money you pay for it.

I was with my brother in Beirut. We were very happy to find a room in Talal Hotel. The room is simple but clean and we had own bath, A.C. and WC. Staff are very friendly and helpfull. You can better hire a taxi through the reception, they know the places to visit as the best.
Further the city centre very close.
They have a generator if the power is out, but the A.C. does not work then with this alternative power.

Tip: go to Jbeel, historic village with cozy streets and fantastic sunset.

Wonderful stay in spotless accommodations that's conveniently located for exploring downtown Beyrut and the pubs on Gemayze street. We struggled a bit to find the location but when we did, the staff welcomed us with cold beverages, on the house, and a room with the AC already turned on (despite the power issues in lebanon). The room and bathroom was very clean; having a private room did not offer a significant advantage over the shared accommodation. If you fill up the shared room, they will give you the room key. Both the dorm room and the private room had a balcony overlooking the street.

The kitchen was clean, and a welcome advantage for making coffee in the morning. Hot water was abundant and the AC worked perfectly without making too much noise.

Overall, the Talal Hotel is definitely worth the stay, and the price can't be beat. The staff was kind enough to let us shower after check-out time on our last day as well, which made the return trip bearable.
