Beautiful hotel ubicated in the downtown of Beirut, near the Beirut Yacht Club. We were in a suite with view on the city. We had a large terrace. The swimming-pool on the roof of the hotel is fantastic. Everything has been perfect. A little bit expensive but recommended to everybody wants to stay very well in Beirut

We had a very relaxing 6-night stay at the Four Seasons Beirut. The hotel is brand new, which inevitably leads to some service problems and misunderstandings (we were quoted 4 different rates for the same room upon check-in, guided tours were a bit lacking). But otherwise, excellent location, food, decor, and value. Nothing else in Beirut measures up.

We stayed with a group of friends at the Four Seasons Beirut hotel for three nights in December. The hotel was "suggested" along with two other Beirut hotels to us by friends, who had invited us to their wedding in the city. Although Four Seasons hotels are well known for their excellent service, I was surprised to read many negative reviews in tripadvisor (which I always read before a trip) about the hotel and its service. When I called, to book two rooms ( more rooms were booked by other friends separately) the reservations manager, Mr. George Asmar, was very nice and gave us upgraded rooms for the regular price. I also got in contact by e-mail and phone with the hotel at several times before our arrival, asking questions or booking, for example, two appointments with hairdressers to come to our rooms the day of the wedding. Everything seemed to be OK, until we arrived and were shown to two nice rooms on the 20th floor. Although the hotel is only a few months old, there were many problems, that I could NOT characterize as "teething problems". To start with, the "handle" of our shower was "throwing water to all directions". I called reception and they promised to fix it right away. Still I had to call several times the next 24 hours, until finally a couple of people came and fixed it. The tap water is not potable in Beirut, so the hotel provides its guests with a couple of complimentary water bottles every day. They also explained, that we could ask for more bottles , whenever we needed . The second day I had to make THREE calls until they finally brought water an hour later! At breakfast (they charge $35 for a buffet breakfast) service was very erratic and it took them a long time to bring us coffee cups, then coffee and finally forks and knives, although the dining room was empty! We were wondering, what would have happened, if they had been more busy! On the day of the wedding I had to go to the front desk, wait for twenty minutes, until they were able to find a hairdresser to come to the room! They had apparently never bothered to make the reservation they confirmed in their e-mai to me and which I reconfirmed the same morning! All the young people, working there, were polite and willing, but they couldn't deliver! The manager of the front desk, Ms. Elsy, was a very nice and accommodating lady and tried to help us every time we complained, but it was NOT a matter of one person in this big establishment. The whole management doesn't seem to be in control of the service of the hotel.

Friends of ours also staying at the hotel, had to complain several times for the toilet in their bathroom, which was not working. So after one night they were moved to room 404, but they had a terrible adventure, when they woke up in the middle of the night to find the whole bathroom flooded by water, which was coming from the smoke detector!! Needless to say, that they spent a horrible night with the plumbers who came and tried to remove the water and fix the problem. These guests used two rooms in the three nights, both rooms with problems!

I don't think I have to add anything more to the above. If the FOUR SEASONS management would have cared, they would have read all the negative reviews in Tripadvisor, as I did before going there, and would have tried to do something about this erratc service in a hotel known for its class.

We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel Beirut in Sept. 2010. We were there for 3 nights. The room service food was yummy. The room was spacious and the King bed was so plush! The bathroom was AMAZING with full tub, standing shower, separate toilet and vanity mirror, table and stool. The rooftop bar and pool is quite the site at sunset. We would stay here again.

The Four Seasons is well situated near downtown. There is currently some construction in front of it, which once completed, would have a great garden right between the hotel and the sea. The rooms are quite well furnished and the hotel is brand new. It has a great open air pool with a cafe on the terrace. Restaurant has a great open air and indoor section and is right next to a small but luxurious bar. For those on work, this hotel has great wifi connections and a business centre / conference rooms.

Overall a great hotel, with good food and good service.

I stayed with the family in two connecting rooms and unfortunetly I have to say what a disappointement, the hotel is pretty new, but you can feel the service standard is not there, electricty cuts at least two to three times a day, house keeping is very bad, lobby is too small, hotel entrance is too small, and for the premium you pay it's not worth it, in addtion to the outside noise, you feel you are sleeping in the street.

I have at least stayed at many fourseasons properties globally, this one comes at the 2nd from the bottom.

If you are not familiar with the 4 seasons experiance, it may be an ok hotel for you, but if you do, then tough luck.

i can only describe my stay in the hotel in superlatives. The staff is extemely friendly, willing to please and always go the extra mile. They are so well trained:- they are unobtrusive, but have that fine balance of knowing just when to assist. From the staff at breakfast who offered to have an egg dish cooked according to another recipe, to the wonderful front of desk concierge staff, led by the utterly charming Jo Kassis, (every mother's dream for her daughter)., they all made my visit to Beirut such a happy experience.

The food in the hotel is very well prepared and of a high standard - Jo sneaked my friend (a high- end and trendy caterer)and I in to see the food for a wedding being brought out,and it was spectacular.

The greeeting staff outside always offer welcome bottles of cool water - the litle touches that distinguish this hotel are every where.

One last point - the beds are the most comfortable Ive ever slept in - and the room, with its wonderful view of the Marina was supplied with the most delicious pastries and nuts.

Cant wait to go back!!
