“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

Hotel was recommended by a friend who previously stayed at this property. Great recommendation. Hotel is near shopping and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. Service was excellent from check in to check out. Roof top bar in the evening, not really my cup of tea, but ok to have a drink and watch people get their groove on. Highly recommend and would stay again. Boutique property.

Recently stayed at Le Gray - lovely hotel, helpful staff, comfy rooms. They did forget to charge me for my hotel to airport trip that I had booked so got a additional charge later which wasn't helpful, but apart from that a great stay.

The hotel is very well located in the center of the Christian part of the city.
It's easy to travel to and from the hotel. The area has a lot of shopping, bars, restaurants, and a lively nightlife during the week end.
Inside the hotel, the architecture is a mix of luxury-zen-loungy ambiance. It's well done, pretty common in other cities but unique in Beirut.
The rooms are large well decorated, with a bit of middle eastern touches in well designed contemporary setting, the bathroom was luxurious well appointed with spa products of high quality.
The food is relatively expensive but good, great breakfast too.

At night there is a sky bar, in the last floor, where the fancy young crowd from Beirut likes to hang out, makes it an interesting place to visit without having to leave the hotel!
Altogether, a good hotel, trendy, fancy, a bit expensive for Beirut but you get what you pay for.

On a recent trip to Beiruit we experienced bad advice and given the cold shoulder when asked for knowledge on getting about, excursions, places to eat, ways to travel and the careful art of not getting ripped off by taxi drivers.
We called into Le Gray and spoke to an absolute service champion by the name of LISA JEREJIAN, Lisa was absolutely fantastic in giving us first hand tips on all the above, even made reservations for us at a fantastic Armenian restaurant, and even more spectacularly, got us into the worlds best night venue 'SkyBar' through her contacts.
We wasted so much time staying in the wrong hotel, chasing our tails trying to find the wrong venues and paying over the odds with taxi drivers, Lisa ensured our stay in Beiruit ended on a positive note.

Do yourself a favour and pay for Le Gray and get the most out of Beiruit. It's a great place but you must be in the know firsthand to avoid a lot of frustration.

I travel all over the Middle East and this is probably my favorite hotel. It's high luxury but understated, not flashy. Essentially a large boutique hotel. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and the staff is second to none. The front desk makes you immediately feel at home, particularly Lisa, joined by Chloe and Paul. Strongly recommended.

The rooftop resto is quite romantic and classy. The food is pretty good and tasty (European) but I have had better elsewhere. The service is very good, on the whole a nice experience, I cannot complain. Would have liked to try staying at this hotel, never occurred to me to book there since it is away from the seaside and i prefer to be in a place overlooking the beach. the reason I never stayed there since i have my own place in Lebanon, i am sure it promises to be a great experience. Who knows, i might give it a one night stay one day just to experience it.

Its difficult to know where to start with Le Gray, the hotel offers an amazing experience from the moment we touched down in Beirut till the moment we left. On arrival at Beirut airport, we were greeted by a very presentable gentleman who walked us to our hotel car which expectedly luxurious but they went the extra mile of having cold bottles of water set up in the back seat for us (its always the little things which impress us!). Check-in was pretty quick, and the receptionist himself showed us around the room which has the latest array of five star gadgetry you could fiddle with during your stay.

The hotel is as modern as it gets architecturally and design-wise, but unlike other modern hotels this one is actually comfortable. The rooms are spacious, incredibly comfortable and well equipped, and the bathroom has its own TV set and waterproof remote (fantastic!) The rooftop offers 3-4 different outlets including a couple of restaurants and bar, and an incredible infinity pool which although small, is probably the coolest pool we've ever seen. And you can tell Le Gray is creating a buzz around town with an art exhibition opening being held there on our first night there with what seemed to be Beirut creme de la creme attending.

The food was nothing to write home about, but it popped up consistently as a top place to wine and dine on Beirut guide sites, so maybe we just ordered the wrong things!

Above all, the service was impeccable. Everything feels personalized with everyone knowing your name, and the staff were incredibly helpful going over and above what is expected of them, many times handling our requests for directions by literally walking us outside and pointing us down the street.

To perfectly describe their level of service and care, I can say i had a small suggestion as to the comfort in the rooms (the bedding to be precise) and Michel at reception knocked off our late check out charge to compensate us for this - a gesture which was too generous considering my comments were only said in passing, and in no way a complaint.

We will definitely be back to Le Gray. I find it hard to believe i would ever stay anywhere else in Beirut.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a view onto Martyr's Square
