While I use Tripadvisor all of the time to read reviews, I never write them. I actually joined today for the sole purpose of writing this review because of an outstanding experience that deserved documentation.
A stay at Le Gray ticks off all of the boxes for a boutique hotel luxury experience... impeccable and friendly service, beautifully designed state-of-the-art contemporary rooms with all of the details that you would expect (the towel warmer, rain shower, flat screen tv, expresso machine, down pillows, cashmere-like slippers, etc), perfect location from views of the Mosque at your seat at breakfast to views of the CHANEL boutique from your balcony.
With savvy well-traveled individuals, however, it is hard for a hotel to go beyond their client's expectations. Luckily, I'm pleased to write that it happened to us. Lisa Jerejian, who is in charge of client relations at Le Gray made our trip simply perfect. In less than 30 seconds, she was able to assess and understand the type of people we are, our taste level and needs and created an itinerary that will never be forgotten.
Lisa is extremely well connected in Beirut and, as such, every restaurant, bar and tour took special care of us as if we were VIP clients. It is the detail that makes an experience special. She stayed in contact with us every day and night of our trip (even when she had a day or night off) to ensure that each and every moment was not just good but great. She is passionate about what she does and takes great pride in her work. She created needs and desires for us that we didn't even know that we had despite the plethora of research we did before the trip.
She turned what could have been just a nice getaway to see a new city and country into a memorable experience where we felt like our cool best friend was with us leading the way at all times.
I looked at the Four Seasons and while it is also a beautiful hotel, I wouldn't think twice before telling you to plan your stay at Le Gray. It is 'a must'. The ultimate in luxury in every sense.
