Le Meridien is an excellent choice for business travelers on a budget. Although an older hotel, the room I stayed in appeared to be recently renovated. Excellent front desk staff and manager, clean and comfortable room, internet worked fine. Easy walking distance to KFC and TGI Friday's across the street. Free shuttle to airport in a large Chrysler 300. I've also stayed in the Crowne Plaza closer to the airport for about twice the price. . .more value to be found here. I paid 52 KWD net. Clearly not a luxury hotel, but I would say a very solid 3-star, bordering on 4. Note: This hotel is separate from Le Meridien Tower.

Good, central location. It's a high rise tower, yet the hotel is rather small (less than 100 rooms). There is a free airport pick up which is very convenient. The hotel also took care of my visa at the airport. The reception is a bit bizarre and seems unorganised, there is only room for one guest at a time. The rooms are clean, standard sized, have amazing pillows and wonderful blankets. On my floor there were only 4 rooms so it was also nice and quiet. The spyholes on the door give you a good view onto the entire corridor.

The reception was good, nice service, the rooms was large and clean, but you can tell that the hotel is not brand-new. It is functional and has all you need. I would have liked a safe that could accomodate my notebook. Wireless internet would be convenient, as well as an ethernet cable better positioned.
Nice view of the sea from the room.
Haven'tr tried any of the restuarants, so I cannot comment on that or on breakfast.

All in all, I'd say, try to look around and compare prices. Kuwait is expensive, but I am sure there are better deals around.

OK - Nicd Reception - you get a freee pick up I think. Huge Crysler.

Lobby is nice - quite regal in a glassy shinny way but the bizare thing is they play Irish Folk music - very surreal.

Restaurants are pretty ordinary - don't bother with the seafood one - I'm eating at the Japanese one tonight but I've not got high expectations.

The Hotel is on the Gulf Road so you can see the Road and the Gulf, oh - and KFC - actually, if you lean out far enough you can see the Kuwait towers.

Room is modern ish but there seemed to be a lot of banging on last night and very early this morning.

Actually - looking around the room is more than OK - it's nicely done. The chair and table isn't a great height so if you are here on work then you are going to struggle to commit to longer than and hour on the machine.

For an overnighter it is OK - btw - NO ALCOHOL.

Enjoy - but get quotes elsewhere.

Where to start? How about no internet. I travel on business and it's important to keep in touch. The internet did not work, and there were no qualified people on site to tell me why it wouldn't. Next- I had a pool view room- sort of. The pool is covered with a giant tan screen. I assumed at first it was to shade the pool area, but on closer inspection, it is there to catch bird poop. It doesn't do a great job, there is still a bunch of it in and around the filthy pool. The backside of the hotel is built up against a ghetto, complete with a large pigeon coop and chickens. I assume it's chickens, because the rooster woke me promptly at 5 a.m. and wouldn't let up until the sun was up. The bath towels were worn threadbare. The mini bar fridge was warm and defrosted when I arrived. The porter that checked it out assured me that it was an electrical problem, and "not to touch the plug". Hmmmm. All I can say is that I spent one night and beat feet to the Crowne Plaza, which is the best that Kuwait City has to offer.

I stayed at Le Meridien Kuwait recently. The hotel is very small (under 80 rooms), but the hotel is excellent. The lobby is comfortable, the front desk staff are welcoming and smiling, and the rooms, though slightly small, are clean and well designed. There appears to be a renovation program going on, and staff at the hotel told me it should be finished soon. The restaurants are excellent; I am an avid seafood fan, and the Al Marsa restaurant (decorated in a traditional Kuwaiti tent style) is romantic and serves delicious seafood. The health club is small but well equipped, and the pool is well sized for a hotel like this. Hotel staff also mentioned that the hotel will soon start construction on a new tower extension with more than 100 additional rooms on an adjacent plot of land; that should boost services when it is finished. All in all, a great hotel for visiting guests!
