My husband and I happened to stumble across this market while waiting for a tour of the Grand Mosque. What a jewel!! We were the only Americans in sight, but weren't made to feel out of place in any way. Rows and rows of neat finds, jewelry, rugs, scarves, traditional clothing, exotic foods and other goods. We plan to go back again before leaving the city. I couldn't find an address online anywhere, but I can tell you that it is near the underground street crossing, souk sharq, and McDonalds. Actually, the entrance we found was directly across the street from the two story McDonalds. Busy area during commute times, lots of people on and off busses. Watch for traffic, no one is going to slow down for you. Parking is very cheap (250 fils for several hours) in the area but was a little difficult to come by.

A great place to browse and eat. It looks like I ate at the same place as the last review looking at the two photos, huge Arabian naan like bread with chicken and hummus for next to nothing and great Arabic tea. Then for dessert some dates from the many date stands!

If you want to scout for cheap items like carpets, perfumes, Middle Eastern vintage items or if you just want to experience their semi-traditional flea market where you can buy 4-5 kilos of Tuna or Salmon for example for only at half dinar (500 fills or say around US $1.5) like around 7AM or anytime depending on the season that they would sell these goods at a really low price, this is one of the best places to go.
