Will go back. Good food, although a bit pricy... service was good...

Was able to have dinner at the Al boom with a group of co-workers while in Kuwait. The location on the water made for some nice sunset photos. We had a local Kuwaiti guide who escorted us there and was very familiar with the establishment, the history of it as well as the story about it. He took us on a short tour of the restaurant inside and out, and gave us some great info which the average customer may not know. We were one of only 3 groups in the place on this particular night and the service was great. The salad bar had numerous local flavors as well as western foods. My favorite was the salmon and some of the other meats. Dinner selection was either a main portion, or 1/2 portions of 2 meals. I selected a meat and ribs. I found the meat to be a little fatty but good none the less. The atmosphere inside this actual ship was pretty cool, and the kitchen being right off the dining room was nice. Tea and dessert on deck afterwards was nice. There is also a lengthy list of famous people on the wall who have eaten at the restaurant over the years. Nice place to visit, kind of pricey, but good.

A bit out of the centre. It will cost you at least 3KD to get there by taxi. The setting is interesting, in a wooden boat. The buffet was fine, but average for this sort of price range in Kuwait. Nobody in my group was impressed with the second courses, whether they were meat or fish. Pricey. Decoration a bit over the top. But plenty of locals there too.
We have heard the Indian Rangoli next door is better. Will try that next time.

Retaurant is in a land based wooden Dhow boat, with sloping floors and two decks.
Buffet starters, wide selection of salads, cold meats and fish, don't eat too much.
Main course choice of fish or grilled meats, or combinations, very tasty
we went upstairs for our dessert, coffees etc. We all enjoyed the food and the surroundings
