This is a large complex of palaces in the heart of Tehran, near the grand bazaar. It is comprised of several small palaces & buildings & muesums, all very impressive.

Except of one or two halls the Golestan Palace suffers from the disease of those years when the Turkish speaking Hazar Dynasty was not sure if they belong to East or West. Mix of styles kitch decoration and the relative. If you have spare time go for a while to judge yourself.

Interesting palace. Lots of glitter. A nice garden area in its interior. We went out to the bazaar, located a short walk away, picked up some kebabs and drinks and ate them there on a bench. The garden area was not crowded. Few tourists, at least when we were there. Big, dark colored, magpie-type birds come looking food.

As in all tourist locations in Iran, foreigners pay around 5 times more for a ticket than Iranians,, but the price was still very reasonable at around 3.50 euros. Very affordable.

I have photos and will try to put some up later...

Very interesting place. Your eyes won't believe what you see in this palace. All the mirror walls, the jade flooring, the design, artefacts etc. A must visit place whilst in Tehran.

I would say so-so, perhaps because they saw at the end of the trip. I've seen much much better and especially the price and 'came to 550,000 Rials per person which seems to me too.
and if I think 'the same amount that you pay to enter the Taj-mahal
