“Shameful”

It's a place that reminds a shameful period of our early history, I can't understand how a nation can occupy a foreign embassy?!!!

“A must see in Tehran”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2011

The former US embassy - or US Den of Espionage as the Iranian government calls the building - is a must see in Tehran. You may remember the 1979 hostage taking when a group of Islamic students stormed the embassy and held diplomatic staff hostage for 444 days. Today the building is occupied by the Revolutionary Guard and the small museum is only open for a few days once a year. Nevertheless, the embassy is worth a visit as the walls surrounding the compound has been decorated with anti-American and anti-Israelian murals..
It is situated right next to Taleghani metro station. Please be careful when taking photos of the murals. The guards don't mind most of the time, but tourists have been know to be questioned by them.
