This building houses a mosque, hall and museum. You can take photos outside the museum section only.

The range, extent and collection of Qur'an are incredible. Texts from the 6th century until this century are on display. The collection gives a really good overview of how the Qur'an has evolved over time in terms of materials, script and decoration.

Not to be missed are the extremely small Qur'an (3 cm x 2 cm) and important Arabic words inscribed on grains of rice and even sesame seeds!

There are also interesting translations of the Qur'an in Chinese, Russian and French (among other languages) on display.

Beit Al Qur'an is located in the center of Manama, taxi drivers all know where to go. I was not sure what I would find, but numerous friends recommended Beit Al Qur'an as a place to go.
I was not disappointed. Such beautiful historic calligraphy it was like art. Numerous Koran's hundreds of years old in such good condition. Well worth spending a couple of hours here, but do not bring your camera as photography is strictly forbidden.

The exhibits on display were breathtaking and very well set out. Quite a small museum, but allow more time than you would think as the calligraphy does warrant close inspection.
