Very good hotel, conveniently placed in the art of the business district and need the city centre.
Easy access to and from the airport and the free pick-up is great. Nice bar and very good food at the Grill.
Will recommend this hotel for business or holiday in the capital.

As we only needed a hotel for a one night stopover between flights we probably, with a little research, could have found a cheaper and more convenient hotel for the airport but because of Interconti we booked the Regency.
Big mistake to arrive on a Friday evening-a twenty minute journey took 45 minutes what with Friday traffic, road works and police security checks. I even thought I caught a wiff of tear gas in the air.
The bedrooms are very high tech-the light switches and bedside electrics module are fine if one is ipod trained. ( we never mastered the TV).
Beds are comfortable and whilst our room was smallish it was well fitted out and the new bathrooms are excellent.
The big surprise was the reception area-where was everyone? Same with restaurants, bar and coffee shop. Is Bahrain empty? (We subsequently found the PM of Yemen was staying here and he and his considerable entourage were out at a reception)
We were the only diners at Selections that evening and having eaten on the aircraft we just shared a salad and a decent club sandwich, a beer and a glass of wine-BHD22,not cheap.
Check in, reception and Check out were very efficient and friendly but in retrospect we made a wrong choice as this is very much a downtown Business Hotel, not really a overnighter for transit leisure Pax.

This is the second time at this hotel and what can i say it's fantastic the rooms are well laid out and the beds are the most comfortable that i have stayed in, , the food is lovely and i can recommend that you eat in the italian restaraunt the pool is on the roof and there is also a decent gym for those who feel in the mood. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the market where you can pick up some bargains and the Seef Mall is close by. I will definately be returning.

Great hotel! A rarity in Bahrain, so I was happy to see that the fitness center was for both men and women with separate locker rooms. The Gulf Hotel and Diplomat have separate ladies and mens' gyms which is a turnoff for my husband and I. The rooms are very modern - large showers with a big rain faucet which was amazing. The hotel just underwent a renovation so it is decidedly modern. A little too modern for me because everything was a button. We spent the first 5 minutes in the dark trying to figure out which of the 10 buttons to push to get the lights on. Once we figured it out, it was fine, but it was annoying to have to use buttons instead of lightswitches. Also, WiFi was expensive, 10BD a day is a lot, in my opinion. Great location, great service, and nice bar, so I would definitely go back.

We now choose this wonderful hotel every time we visit Bahrain - it is a wonderful respite for us to get away from Saudi Arabia.

We had the priviledge to stay for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and we were not in any way disappointed - in fact on arriving at the front entrance we were met with the same friendly staff that we have come to expect and the hotel was indeed beautifully decorated in a very stylish way for Christmas which was a great treat for us.

We were due to eat out in Bahrain for Christmas Eve but seeing our wonderful Club Suite on the 7th floor we cancelled our dinner reservation and instead ordered in room service and enjoyed our suite instead - fantastic is the word - separate bath, shower and two toilets and lovely living room with TV and also large bedroom also with TV - we were spoilt from the minute we arrived to the minute we left.

What makes this hotel stand out is the staff - yes simply the staff and the fantastic chefs - our special thanks go out to you all and for Christmas Day lunch we dined at our favourite restaurant the Legendz - what can one say about the lunch was it was superb and very good value - the chicken liver pate was fantastic (maybe the chef could share the recipe with me), my husband also had the scallops - huge and mouth watering and although there was turkey on the menu we opted for the steak and we were certainly not disappointed no need for a steak knife either as it was so tender and just the way we like it - in fact the waiter knew and remembered we like it medium rare - now how good is that for service!

It was such a lovely Christmas and one we will never forget thanks to the staff - one slight hiccup my husband forgot to pack his suitcase so we had to hot foot it to the nearby Shopping Mall on Christmas morning to buy some essentials but made it back in time for our Christmas Lunch - oh quick mention the Christmas pudding with brandy was the icing on the cake - in a word FANTASTIC!

We then met some lovely people who also live in Saudi Arabia so we returned to the Club Lounge where there was a lot of Christmas merriment and cheer etc.

It was lovely to see Jennifer the Duty Manager again and have a chat with her - again she is so efficient but always has time to make sure that all guests are being well looked after - yes she is the star attraction that is for sure.

We also enjoyed handing out some pressies for most of the staff - sorry chefs we did not forget about you all because the next time we visit which will be very soon - we indeed will have some pressies.

The breakfast again was fantastic and yes having freshly cooked eggs or omlettes is always a big treat.

We were very sad to leave early on Boxing Day but Saudi Arabia beckoned for my husband to return back to work - pity we could not have stayed on that day for a late check out just to enjoy the spa facilities and pool - but of course we will return.

We were also presented with lovely fresh flowers, a present and a lovely chocolate log in our Club Suite but alas we forgot our chocolate log?? pity as they make the most wonderful chocolate yummy cakes.

Thank you to you all and in particular to the lovely man that cleaned our room.

Kind Regards
Caroline and Tim Collen

I have stayed in Intercontinental Regency twice in 2011 and I am glad I chose it.

Firstly, it's located in the cetner of the city and is close to the main attractions of bahrain including Seef Mall, Manama City Center and the traditional market of Manama. Additionally, the area it is located in, is the hub of Bahrain's economic activities and most multi national companies and banks are located at a walking distance to the Hotel.

Seconddly, Being a British Expat living in Dubai and having a lot of friends amongst my fellow countrymen, It's always good to see that the Guest Relations Manager is a couteous and polite British lady and we always chat about our country when i check in or out, which is always a refreshing feeling and helps me overcome my nostalgia immediately.

I stayed in Intercontinental Regency Bahrain, recently in December 2011 after a break of almost 5 months, and to my amusement and surprise, the lady at their main restaurant immedialtely recognized me. So did the bell boys and the receptionists.

The restaurant has a nice array of restaurants and a cozy pub with live music played every night. Last time i stayed there, a nice R&B band from South Africa was playing every night. I also enjoy their Italian Restaurant.

Overall, this is an excellent hotel, where all my needs are met in the most courteous of manners, and may i dare say that they always exceed my expectations. If there is anything called a perfect hotel, Intercontinental Regency Bahrain comes very close to being one.

Room Tip: The rooms are pretty quiet overall, but if you wish to go for a room with pin drop silence, choose t...

My stay at the InterContinental Regency Bahrain was great. The reservations were prompt in their reply, the service culture was pleasant, the team looked and sounded happy, the attention to details from the Club Reception and concierge were outstanding.

The variety of food on the buffet was generous and tasty. The Italian restaurant is a must. The Food & Beverage service was impeccable.

The renovation of the hotel have put the InterContinental Regency Bahrain on top of the list. From old to modern with state of the art equipment.

Great hotel.
