This is a great hotel and one that I would definately principally use in Bahrain.

The gym and spa facilities are fantastic and the pool area tranquil and enjoyable, with an excellent poolside bar.

The only downpoint is that the rooms are a little basic and the decor could do with being updated, but this is a minor thing and shouldnt detract from what is a great hotel.

We spent five nights in an eleventh floor Royal Club room in March. Royal Club has its own check-in on the tenth floor and free access to the club lounge on that floor, with great views over the Persian Gulf. This was one of the best club lounges we have experienced. As previous reviews have noted this is mainly a business hotel. As a consequence, the hotel is not geared up to provide information on places of interest, and the shuttle bus to the souk and the shopping mall were not well advertised and didn't run reliably. Apart from that we very much enjoyed our stay in the hotel and can recommend it to tourists and business travellers alike. The pool has been recently renovated and there is a wide choice of restaurants. We did not try the Spa facilities. The room was large and well equipped. It even had a Nespresso machine - the first we have seen in a hotel room. The room was well serviced and generally we found the staff throughout the hotel very attentive and helpful.

I have stayed here twice for several days with no issues and been to the Brunch on several occasions.

Very Western clientele.

Great place to stay in Manama. All of the rooms will have a view.
Good location in town and they have a daytime shuttle.

The beds, duvet and pillows are very comfortable.

There is a nice Spa next door in the Residence tower which guests have access to. There was a female only hot tub, pool, dry sauna and wet sauna.

The Friday Buffet is always lively with Filipino entertainment and you too become the entertainment. Great place for large groups. All the bubbly you can drink. Best view in town since it on the top floor of the hotel.

The New Years Eve 2007 Las Vegas Event in the ballroom was fantastic.

The Navy Ball 2007 was also beautifully done.

There are restaurants in the Dip and next door and across the street are more hotels and restaurants as well as a COSTA coffee with free WiFi 3 blocks away.

There is a new office building going up next door so in JAN2008 there was construction.

Bahrain is a great place with many first class hotels. My choice every time is the Radisson Diplomat. Great service, good pricing and genuinely kind and considerate staff are a very powerful combination to making a visit a treat. I've stayed there 6 times now and their offering is consistently brilliant - my job is enhancing customer satisfaction so i am rather choosy.

The Fiddlers Bar run by Joe is also very friendly, the locals always want to get to know visitors and Joe's team is entertaining as much as it is efficient.

In the UK there is a habit for men to shake hands as a business gesture or half-hearted signal of rapport. At the Radisson when the staff get to know you they do it very authentically and back up a warm welcome with a quality of service i haven't seen before. The new Spa is also wonderful. I treated myself to a Balinese massage and 3 days on i am still absolutely relaxed. Check Radisson web site for best prices as you are likely to save a few pounds off published prices.

This hotel is WONDERFUL! The staff was totally awesome. Very helpful. The breakfast and lunch buffets were very good and had plenty of selections. The pool was great and was never crowded. The only bad things I can say is: 1) We were there during Ramadan and the is no liquor ANYWHERE in the Kingdom, except room service. Not even clubs, liquor stores, anywhere. 2) We had a smoking room and there are no vents in the room, not even in the bathroom. 3) Airconditioning kept the room cool, not by any means cold. Bad air circulation. Other than these few little things, I would definately recommend this hotel and would stay there again, except during Ramadan!!

We stayed at the Diplomat Hotel in Bahrain for 4 Nights in May. The Lobby is impressive, Staff at the reception desk were attentive. The Rooms are not huge but they are extreamly comfortable, the beds and pillows are very very comfortable. The pool was being worked on at the time and there were lots of builders around but it was still useable - Not the best for a realaxing stay but at least you could cool off. We ate at the hotel 2 nights the arabian resturant on the top floor has a fantastic buffet lunch well worth a visit. Taxi rides are cheap in Bahrain but be sure to haggle a price otherwise you will be charged over the odds. The mall is great loads of shops designer and bargains. The sushi bar in the Bahrain mall is a great place for lunch. I would also recommend a meal at the polynesian restaurant at the Ritz Carlton - Fantastic food, fantastic place to eat and not too pricey. The bar in the hotel is good and gets quite busy in teh evenings, we headed into a night club - can't remember the name but ladies get free shots, there is also an after bar at the night club where we met loads of interesting people from around the world. All in all we had a great stay here.

This was our first time to visit the Middle East and we had a great time in Bahrain. A friend of ours had told us of the nice time he had spent at The Diplomat so we decided to take his advice and stay there. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were convinced we had made the right choice. The Reception staff were extremely proffesional and a very nice German lady checked us in and showed us to our room. The rooms are very large and exceptionally clean. The best thing for me was the views which, with wall to wall windows, is something that most hotels fall short of. With a nice selection of restaurants the food was good if a little predictable. However the crowning glory was the staff. From the cleaners to the Reception staff all of them are very friendly and will go out of the way to make you happy. Great hotel - great staff!
