Great location ask for a water view room rather than a poolside which may be a bit noisy. The price is good, rooms are comfortable in size, balconies are great and the pool is popular. Room service is not very good, rather the quality of the food is average and menu choices may not be as per the printed copy. Breakfast is generous and the staff busy but accomodating.

Room Tip: If possible get a water view

I must start with mentioning that I have stayed at this hotel in 2006/2007 and was very pleased back then, hence I arrived with high expectations. However since then, time - and the Middle Eastern climate - has not been kind to the hotel.. the corridors are mostly open air, from the stair cases to the locks on the doors, everything has visibly suffered from sand, humidity and sea salt enriched humid air. The interior of my room was ok, the couch was actually a lot more comfortable than it looked, but this is about where it ends. The room service menu was so reduced to sandwiches and burgers that I had no other choice than trying the sea food restaurant on site, la perle. I was given the choice between buffet and seafood market, opted for the latter and had quite a nice meal, however even the food was presented without the last touch of passion and enthusiasm one would expect from a 4*+ resort, same goes for the service. Minibar was just an empty fridge which I wouldn't mind had there been a grocery store close by. Internet via wifi was free of charge but would come and go at will, luckily I always carry an Ethernet cable so that was covered. All in all, I was fairly disappointed, there are better and cheaper hotels in Manama.

Concerning the Food and Beverage outlets, a global review of the concepts and opening a fourth outlet by the sea have been validated with the consultant, and contractors will start end of this year.

We booked this hotel for one night as a short family weekend. The resort is OK. Rooms are basic and not that fancy which is expected from a four stars resort.

Breakfast restaurant was very crowded and then service was average as well as the food (nothing special).

In general, it’s one of the very narrow resorts choices in Bahrain. If you can afford to book a room in Ritz or Sofitel, stay away from this one.

I stayed four nights at Al Dana on a business trip from Europe along with a colleague. I had seen the pictures online but I was really surprised when I got there.

SERVICE:
The staff is readily available at any time and will stand on their hands for you.
ROOM:
I had a huge room with a wonderful view of the city. The bed was a standard king size bed. The bathroom was quite standard with a shower/bath tub combination. The only down turn was that my room didn't have a balcony which many rooms had.
EAT/DRINK:
The hotel has two restaurants and a bar. I only tried the mediterranean restaurant which also served the breakfast. Everything i tried was very good.
The seaside bar has a nice view of the bay and all drinks come with complimentary nuts. Loved it :)
POOL/SPA/ETC.:
I only tried the pool and the beach. They were both very nice. The sea water was good for morning and evening swims to cool down (around 20C) while the pool was good for spending hours in the pool bar :)
The only thing i missed was easy access to sun screen close to the pool as the gulf sun really bit on pale Norwegian skin :p
LOCATION:
The location is a bit off regarding tourism, but I guess most spots are in Manama as merely nothing is walking distance. For business, the location is great. Around 5-10 minutes from the airport.

Even if i was here on business, I would not hesitate to go here with a girlfriend, a family with kids or with friends.

With the current status in Bahrain where civil unrest is possible, the Al Dana is a perfectly safe place to be as it is basically on its own.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony face the pool and beach Rooms without balcony face either the city or the island...
