Great location, beautifull building, both pool and beach, two restaurants and great weather. Nothing can go wrong you think. Wrong!! Unfriendly staff (apart from a few who smile and are helpfull) and in general even unpleasant to deal with. It took 4 (!) Phone calls to have the bed sofa made ready. The waiters at the pool - despite many attempts from our side - refused to smile or even speak. We don't mind about the language, just smile and show you're friendly. Shrimps in La Perla restaurant were heavily over cooked and even at the reception a friendly welcome seemed too much. What does it say? Bad management. HR messed up, but in general the management is not involved the right way. They don't realize people spend lots of money and might even return if they like their stay. Is it so hard to find the right people and make them understand the meaning of true hospitality??? Does staff only smiles in 5*hotels?? Come on Novotel, you can and should do better!

This was my business trip to Bahrain and my flight arrived close to midnight so i was very grateful to have a car waiting for me and for a staff member waiting to welcome at the airport. Check-in was very fast. On arrival the room it's self was amazing, more opulent than i'd expected. The bed was out of this world esp after a long flight. Breakfast is a wide choice of dishes with VERY delicious bakery/desert corner. Very friendly, attentive and welcoming staff and outstanding services, the hotel facilities are excellent with wonderful recreation facilities. I have also enjoyed dining at the unique and exceptional seafood restaurant. Great Value for money

The hotel is at a good location and is nicely built. The sofa bed was a nice touch so that my two toddlers could easily sleep in it and I ended up saving the 15 BD charge per day for an extra bed. Breakfast was nice and the staff was ok. A few things did not work when we got there but they were able to send someone promptly to fix the issue. Swimming pool was really nice and the small beach was ok if not crowded. Although they don't have a lifeguard on the beach so that was unfortunate.

The only real negative was the policy that you cannot charge restaurant bill or room service to your room unless you have made advance payment for it.

Room Tip: Although a sea view isn't that spectacular but I preferred it to a pool view. Plus ask for room...

After my previous experience of 4 star hotels in Bahrain, I admit I was a bit wary of other 4 stars, but was really surprised to find that it was a lovely place to stay at!

The food is quite good, desserts are excellent, and the hotel... lovely!
Beaaaautiful views of the sea from my balcony, and also the private beach.
There's also a lovely pool with a pool-side bar and a bar-shack at the beach. But unfortunately they were all closed. I think it's cos I was there during the week-days (but then I was there for work, so couldn't really enjoy the facilities anyway).

The place has this nice old-world charm with their buildings built with a sandstone and wood and with the old arabian architectural style with wind towers and all.
The rooms are huge and the wireless really fast and good.

The staff were helpful and friendly and the rates REALLY good for a place so nice!

I've decided to stay here for all my business trips, esp since it's literally 5 mins from the airport!

Room Tip: ask for the rooms facing the sea, it's lovely!
