“If you are a chocoholic, you'd call Maya Home!”
Reviewed April 17, 2012

Here is the thing, if you’ve ever been to Bahrain before, then you must have heard of “Maya”, if not, then I am sorry for you. This chocolate bar and shop is the coolest thing ever. For many years I wish that it opens a branch in my city Jeddah, and although they went as far as Riyadh, they stopped there. Several chocolate bar has opened, some really terrible, and some are good, but none came even close to replicate The Maya experience.
What makes Maya so special is the quality of the chocolate and everything on their menu, the speedy friendly service, and the cool vibe all over the place. The ambience in the café is really cool and it is very much a tribute to chocolate from top to bottom. The walls, the tables, the colors, and all items in the menu and on display for retail, whether its candy, cakes, chocolate of all kinds, and the chocolate fondue kit s they sell there among many things.
I have tried many items in their menus during my many visits throughout the years, and although I adore the cakes and desserts they sell, my very favorite item there is the chocolate fondue. You may order it in one of three kinds: dark, milk, or white chocolate, you also can order with different dipping items: mini cakes, strawberries, banana, and marshmallow. Or you can have it with mini ice cream balls, which is very cool. You can also have it with macroons, which I am yet to try. You would not believe how awesome this treat is, and with it you can also try the coffee, which is quite good, or one of many drinks on their menu. The prices are not steep at all, very affordable whether you are dinning in or buying merchandize. So if you are a chocoholic at all, do yourself a solid one and drop by, it will certainly feel like home.
