I like the idea of historical place surrounded by a beautifull gardens. Try to be there on Nov., Dec., or Jan. as the weather would be so nice and you can go around the place walking.

This is a fascinating museum located in an older part of Riyadh adjacent to an authenic souk.
The musem tells the story of the founding of the modern Saudi state by the Bedouin King AbdulAziz. The exhibits are well laid out with a clear narrative and give a good insight into the evolution of the Kingdom, although not too much mention of the oil that has obviously transformed the region.
Well worth the visit which can be combined with a shopping tour around the souk.

If you are here in Riyadh, you must go. The grounds, the water park, the history. My wife only comes once a year, it is on my list to impress her.

Really well laid out and reasonable amount of information in English. Lays on the arrival of Islam a bit thick but that's to be expected. Situated in a lovely developed area of Riyadh with several small gardens - (entrance for families only). Close to other attractions including 'chop chop square'. As with everything in Riyadh - don't trust the opening times on the internet - just turn up and hope for the best. Quiet in the mornings - busy in the afternoons/evenings.
