“Great for family of 5”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014 via mobile

It is always hard to find great accommodations to all be together when there are 5 people. This hotel was great. Updated furnishings -great full breakfast with healthy options. Great service. We wanted to go to several different areas so it worked well for us. Also the two separate bedrooms accommodate different awakening times without disturbing others.

Originally, I thought this was a Hyatt hotel (until I went to write this review). My room smelled of bug spray which put me off immediately.

The room is very clean but not well furnished. For example the bathroom sink is a pedestal style, with a soap dish. There is no place to put any toiletries apart from the soap dish (in the entire bathroom). There is no inroom safe, nor is there an iron or ironing board nor bedside lights or light switches..

There is a refrigerator, good sized TV and a microwave.

This place feels like it was intended to be something else and was changed to a hotel somewhere along the way.
.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the side facing the highway

I am writing a new review of this hotel. It is the Al-Hamra location. The name of the hotel is Hayatt Home Hotel. It is not associated with the Hyatt chain. Tripadvisor has this wrong. I do not say this place is "excellent," like I did before, but very good and slightly above average. The suites are fairly large, even the one bedroom ones. The very large luxury suites look absolutely incredible and outstanding, I checked one out one time. But I am too cheap and usually alone so I don't stay in one of the large suites. I will now write about the amenities. I have tried to use the hot tub several times. The water is never hot in the hot tub, and the attendant can't do anything about it. There is not a hot water heater, it is broken, or some other excuse. There is a wet and dry sauna, which are just okay. The restaurant has good food and I have been pleased. I have started eating there. The restaurant is on the top floor and I never knew it existed before. It is true there are some good restaurants on King Abdullah Road which is very close by. You can't cross the KA Road on foot, it's too busy and dangerous. The coffee shop in the lobby is fine for coffee and socializing. I think the cakes and deserts in the display case are kept there forever. Buyer beware. Again, the top floor restaurant is very nice. There is excellent customer service from the front desk staff and porters. The will do anything to help you and show hospitality. The hotel is clean. Get a room NOT facing the street, and on the first floor for convenience. True there is no bottled water in the rooms. This seems to be a common thing in Saudi hotels. It is true the hotel is not near the trendier areas or downtown Riyadh. It's far away. The gym is quite nice and no one is ever there. I recommend the gym with nice equipment nobody ever uses. The small pool is fine. As I said, the hot tub is pretty sorry with cold water only. The manager NASSER, is an amazing well intentioned guy. He will do anything for you. He sincerely wants to help and apologizes for any of the hotel's shortcomings. He is trying to make changes to situations such as the hot tub. But he only has so much power. There is a fee to use the hot tub and saunas. I didn't like these facilities, so my money was refunded. The rooms are clean and choose quiet ones not over the street but facing the back. This hotel is fine with a decent restaurant. Nasser is great for anything you need. But the hot tub is kind of a joke, and the hotel is in an out of the way place, and TOUGH to find with all the construction. But there are always taxis going by all the time. This is a safe and nice choice. But don't plan on a relaxing evening in the hot tub. Unless they finally get it right. After months of my regular visits, the hot tub was never a serious option. Ask first!

There is more than one Hayatt Home hotel. This one is located next to the In Tour Al Hamra Hotel which is reviewed on tripadvisor. I ranked this place high for being an outstanding value. I have stayed at the Armada Palace at exit 9 before. This place is a better value because for similar room rates, there is also a pool and fitness room in the basement. There is basement parking. The hotel is not on a major road, so some services are not as close as other places. The front desk is friendly and professional. They always called me by name. The curtains do not block out all the light, which is bad if you want to sleep late in the morning. The bed is firm and nice. I recommend this place if you want to stay at a slightly upscale place, and not break the bank by staying on Olaya Street.

The hotel location is only acceptable if you have some business at Riyadh Convention Center / Exhibition Grounds. Otherwise it will take minimum 1 hour to get to city center. There are not many places to eat around and not a decent super market near the hotel.

I booked my room in July for a September Stay via booking.com, it included breakfast but upon checking-in at the hotel, they told me that the breakfast has been closed down for the past 2 months. I had no prior information about this and this was very much troublesome for me. As i had booked the hotel for the event, it wasn't possible for me to go down searching for any new hotel. I feel that i have overpaid and that i should have some refund for this cancellation of service without notice.

Room Tip: The hotel location is only acceptable if you have some business at Riyadh Convention Center / Exhibi...
