I lived for years in Riyadh, and have been to the museum several times. I went back last year and was impressed with the information I learned from the visit to the museum.. Highly recommended.

It's a beautiful museum with so much to see, and has English language information on the items. It's a little hard to find though...they should put signage on King Fahad road and the neighborhood to help find it. (In English as well as Arabic...it's a tourist spot after all!)

For those interested in knowing more of the Arab culture and history of this area, there are several exhibits that talk about the old armor to skeletons of mammoths that once lived on this soil and as well large replicas of the holy mosques with lots of detail and many many things people would like if they find Arab culture interesting.

Few westerners have much sense of the history of Saudi Arabia and this is a well organized, attractive and a straightforward presentation of its history and culture. One has to be careful planning the time to access the place as there are gender and age restrictions throughout the week. We benefitted from a guide who knew how to inquire for an appropriate time for us (two women and a male guide) to access the museum. One could take hour s but the highlights were enjoyable in an hour or a bit more.
