“Decent Stay, Ministry District”
Reviewed November 4, 2012 via mobile

Decent business hotel with a location near the ministry district. Business only hotel not good for sightseeing or family. hotel staff or friendly and accommodating. All are not fluent in English. Breakfast buffet is limited and not fresh. Rooms are spacious and great value for the cost. Limited restaurants available with small choices and expensive, unlike other Radissons in the GCC. Next time I will choose a different hotel.

To Shahid Abidi, Senior Sales Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, "Guests Come First" is his number one rule. From the outstanding buffet breakfasts, to the luxurious third floor lounge, to the simple things - like needing a pack of matches late at night, or changing currency early in the morning, the Radisson staff was there to help. Mr Abidi was a continual presence in the hotel, always assuring that everything was right or, in the rare instance when it wasn't, making it right immediately.

The rooms are large and elegant, the beds are comfortable, and the hotel store has everything you might need (I bought a book on learning Arabic,as well as several fine cigars). The location is convenient to all major government and business centers in the city.

If your plans include a trip to Riyadh, do yourself a favor and stay at the Radisson Blu. It was - truly - my home away from home while I was in Riyadh.

Room Tip: A high floor away from the street.

I stayed at the hotel in january 2012. It was a nice stay and i was lucky to find an offer (Book a standard room and get upgraded to a superior).
The hotel itself looks a bit old from the outside specially when you compare to the new hotel desgins around the world. But do not let that discourage you! The staff are nice, the hotel is well kept and the rooms are spaciouse enough. The breakfast was awesome, there are some tables which offer a level of privacy and the food tasted good, it was variant too.
The only two comments in my opinion are the sound of traffics, The room is well proofed so you only hear a faint sound, but i imagine if you are here for bussiness and want to sleep late you might be annoyed (This is not confirmed as i was there for the weekend).
The other thing is the hotel location which is a blessing but also a curse. You are close to important locations and it is on a main street, but being there means that driving during rush hours to the airport or from it to the hotel is tough. I would say rush hours are from 7:30 to 9:00 am and 2:00 to 4:00 pm. So please plan your trip well from and to the airport well.
Nevertheless i would recommend this hotel for it is value for money.

Room Tip: High floor!

Have been visiting this hotel ever since it was the Hyatt. Recent upgrades (in the last few years) to rooms and other facilities have brought it to a high level. Very comfortable and modern. Free wifi all over the hotel. Great gym/health club. The Shogun (Japanese restaurant) is excellent. If nit picking - I would mention small things like a lack of the laundry list/bags in the room...very low levels of Shampoo for a couple of days - eventually ran out and had to ring to ask for more and an air conditioning failure for a time one morning. But being fair these did not significantly detract from a pleasant stay. Well done Radisson Blu.

Room Tip: Always ask for a room away from the traffic (front of hotel feonts onto a busy road)

Well, Saudi Arabia! What can I say? Different land, different culture, and.......very nice and sincere people! I did not anticipated all the different aspects of Saudi Arabia (although I did my research) and was pleasantly surprised about the professionality of the Radisson Blue hotel staff and it's facilities. Value for money, that is! Service is provided by it's staff to long ends and all facilities are kept up-to-date very well. The hotel is conveniently located in the vicinity of the airport (30 min. ride), just outside the ring which make up Riyadh center (near Makkah Road).
Although the hotel is at the busy King Abdulaziz street, noise is kept to a minimum when inside the facilities and rooms. The food is wonderful, fresh and with a variety to keep everybody happy. Requested services are fast, response is immediate and on-the-spot. Very safe place to stay. Supervising staff is very alert to the needs of their guests. Senior Sales Manager, Mr. Abidi is taking care of every question and special request. Highly recommended (and I am a spoiled traveller)! Thanks!

This is by far one of the best business hotels in town. Wireless is for free and relatively fast. Besides good sport facilities there is also a great Japanese restaurant called Shogun. The Italian restaurant isn't that great- food is rather blunt.

There are three different hotel room styles. All of them are modern but I personally prefer the andalucian style. In terms of location, the hotel is pretty far away from the airport- during rush hour, it can take up to 1.5 hours by car.

One of my favorite hotels to stay in on a business trip as they can provide good rooms to have a good peace of mind, the rooms are clean, you get comfortable as soon as you check in, and the staff is ready to hear any problem you see and they act on problems pretty fast. Mr. Shahid Abidi has shown support as he always has been doing the reservation on call, and I appreciate his excellence for dealing with me, as he takes the time to discuss with me about any problem I have and his constant concern of how can we make you comfortable.
