Around 160SAR for an all you can eat buffet in a relaxed setting watching the horse racing. In the dinning section, females may remove their bat capes and relax with family and friends, wandering onto the balcony to watch the gee gee's go past! Well worth a trip and the money...

A day at the races in Riyadh cannot be compared to horse racing anywhere else in the world. Firstly entrance is FREE. If you wish to have a meal that you will never forget, you pay SAR 180-00 and the buffet on the first floor that is located across from the finish line forms your "suite" or from the balcony. From here you look down into the ring where there horses are paraded before every race. The winner circle is also just there, and all this with in an abaya free environment (this is a definite benefit).

Betting is a complicated affair that is done by the locals. In the comfort of the air-conditioned "suite" most expats just make a small pool end "bet" against one another on a race to race basis. The best bet is to make sure you identify the horses belonging to the king as his horses normally wins hands down.

A strong recommendation for a visit on any Friday from around October to April every year.

Well it is actually possible to enjoy a day out in Riyadh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! although this is in the A..SE end of the Desert not to far away from the Airport and no where near Riyadh its self. Top day out I have been several times and although there is no official Gambling just some bizarre carry on like a raffle that looks as Rubbish as no doubt it is. It is possible to have a FANTASTIC Dinner and watch the beautiful Horses race from one of the VIP lounges and balcony's at a very reasonable price. This is my Number one attraction that I believe Riyadh has to offer And recommend it for everyone not just race goers or Horse lovers its just a nice day out.

Where else in the world would you get to watch the royalties race their top horses from a private box that serves a delectable buffet for less than $50 (180sr) per person?? It's a pleasant way to spend an afternoon with your friends, socializing and perhaps wager on which prince will walk away with more money or a brand new car.
