Owner description: This holy stone is the eastern cornerstone of the Kaaba, the ancient stone building towards which all Muslims pray. Many Muslims believe that the stone (originally white but now black from absorbing the sins of man) fell from heaven during the time of Adam and Eve.

“off peak times are the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

late at night, really really early in the mornings and absolutely my favourite is under the mid day sun - lunch time. These are my preferred times to touch or kiss the Black Stone.
The Islamic Historical importance of the Black Stone is a lengthy one, but in a nutshell, this stone, made up of a few small stones, is said to have decended from the heavens and was eventually placed onto one of the corners of the Kaaba.
It has been recommended that one should kiss it if possible, however with the ever increasing crowds, it has become more and more difficult to get close to it. One should at least put your hands out and pretend to kiss it as a gesture of an attempt. Proclaiming that God is Great.
In my attempt at the Blck Stone, I was amazed to see the security trying to control the crowds with little success, but there was some kind of order in a line up to kiss the stone. No guarantee on time though.
To my amazement, looking at those who had just kissed the stone, you notice a sence of extreme exhubarance in their eyes. Expressions that border on a level of elation where the other side maybe that of being exorcised.
Exercise caution if you are female. There is no special treatment for you.

it is a strong religious story behind this stone. so everybody likes to touch or kiss it. so try to be nice when you reach it and touch/kiss it very fast and leave the place so the others can see it too.

“It's hard to kiss it, but it is still possible..”

It's very crowded. But, to be able to reach and kiss it, you only need a faith in Allah. A faith that Allah will lead us to the stone. Insya Allah.

“Unreachable”

it is very tempting to try to touch it but it is almost impossible especially in between prayers, you have to be patient and follow a long queue.
