InterContinental Dar Al Tawhid
Ranked #10 of 371 Hotels in Mecca
Certificate of Excellence

This was my 4th stay at the Dar Al Tawhid in Mecca, and it is still the best....

Location wise it has the easiest access to the Haram through King Fahad Gate and the best thing is that there are plenty of elevators in each floor (12 elevators) and that makes a difference when you are in a busy season....

The room quality is excellent and in room dining is very good...

you can be assured most of the time that you are getting the best hotel quality in mecca and i have tried before the hilton next door and zamzam tower which can't be compared to Dar Al Tawhid's qulaity of service, room and ease of accessiblity to and out of the hotel to the Haram....

I guess due to the high demand of this hotel and guranteed customer , you will not expect too much assistance from this hotel managment specially if you are a memebr of priority club.
price is little bit high

This is one of the best hotels opposite Alharam Alshareef in Mecca, the location is excellent and the view of Alharam from the higher front rooms is amazing , however the hotel is aging and needs an urgent renovation , the furniture is getting old and outdated and needs to be replaced , I stayed in this hotel 5 times , 3 times were during Ramadan , and every time I make a booking I face difficulty in the communication with the staff, and the confirmation of my room reservation was always delayed , the staff are not special and the waiting time at check in is very long , the other problem I faced was the transport , I was never able to arrange a hotel transport for Jedda airport pickup ! and 2 times I had to use dirty , old ,airconditionless taxis ! The food was ok , but the buffet choices are always the same .

This hotel is the best hotel in Mecca, the location is perfect, just dew steps to the holy mosque, is so luxurious, rooms and service are good.

It has also a prayer room which is connected to the holy mosque, you may pray there if the mosque is too crowded.

The only disadvantage with this hotel is its rate; it’s too expensive. You may found other 5 star hotels in the same location with half the price.

We have stayed in this hotel 4 times, and we have loved it every time we stayed.
Its expensive that is the only negative thing about it. The service is great and the staff is very well mannered and courteous. I just hope they don't raise the room rates every year.
The executive suite is like a 2 bedroom apartment and the junior suite like a one bedroom apartment. If you choose to go for a single or double room, they are also very spacious and comfortable. Haram View is Awesome and worth it.

First of all let me say that for me it was either this hotel (which was $100/night or a $270/night hotel) and that I WOULD stay there again just because of the rate however I would do the following as soon as I check in: Check everything in the room, from the bed sheets to the bath room. Make sure it works and the water pressure is good. My bed sheets were dirty and after letting the ppl know about it they changed them in to more dirtier sheets! On my last say I would not take a shower because the water had sand in it and there was no water pressure to even wash hands. There were only 7 occupied rooms, hotel was not busy at all so I did not understand why the service was so bad. BTW the hotel is old and I am surprised that it is an Intercon Hotel it is more like a motel 6 with the drugs. Food was good.
I will recommend only because of the price and as I said my suggestion is to check everything as soon as you check in. A normal taxi is around 40riyals to the Haram.
