I spent a week at this hotel when I visited for Umrah (17/4) and Alhamdulilah from start to finish it was brilliant! From Jeddah airport its approx 45 mins away but be prepared for a very un-organised/long wait to get through immigration, 4 hours!
When we arrived the check in was quick and easy, we had a small problem that I was given a twin room (with a view of a wall!) and was told to put the beds together but after calling and speaking with Md Bayoumi (General Manager) who was very understanding he promised to change the room (floor 14 I think room 33) the next day. True to his word the room was changed and Alhamdulilah my room was overlooking the Haram Sharrif- truly blessed! The room itself was lovely and spacious, the only disappointing bit was the bathroom was a cramped but that's just me nit picking. The hotel itself was less than 2 mins walk to the Haraam Sharrif and is perfectly placed! Anyone with kids or elderly parents who don't want to have to travel too far and want to be able to pop back to their room when needed its ideal. Equally you are close to all the restaurants and shopping facilities which I know its not what its about but nonetheless is useful.
In terms of staff at the hotel I found everyone helpful but I need to especially mention our room service personnel Brother Md Ismail Hannan who was brilliant, he was always helpful and most of all was happy and talkative and Alhamdulilah so knowledgeable about Islam when I asked him questions. I pray Allah swt looks after this brother and if anyone from the hotel responds to this then please pass on my salaams to the brother.
In terms of the facilities they were great, the breakfast room was lovely and well equipped as everyone else has written. The hotel is connected to the mall which includes lots of restaurants and leads to the Haraam Sharrif too.
I also said I would mention Brother Walid who took us on Ziyarat (also does transportation between Makkah and Madinah) to all the main places in his GMC. His English is perfect as he has travelled well and is a great character- his number is 0532220423. I paid 200 Riyal for just the two of us- maybe not the cheapest but having someone speaking perfect English and his character was well worth it.
I will iA return to Makkah again one day soon and will definitely be happy to visit this hotelagain.
I hope this helps and anyone who reads this/visits Makkah please make dua for me/my wife and the Ummah.
