“Movenpick Hotel Facilities are Excellent”
Reviewed August 16, 2011

The hotel facility is excellent and the hotel staff tried to do their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The environment of the hotel is very beautiful. We enjoyed our stay, had good food in Hajar restaurant. Room service was nice and delivery of the food was fast and cooked properly. Housekeeping service was remarkable the way they kept the rooms clean. Thanks to all and hope we will be back again soon. Especially I want to thank to Mr.Nasser T Thodi for his great help to make our stay pleasant and comfortable.

stayed for 2 nights in Ramadan...

The rooms are average, we had a triple beds room which had a view of construction tower next door and we had alot of construction noise both in the evening and mornings....

the bathroom is small with standard stand shower and the toileteries quality is very bad that we had to buy our own soaps....

service is slow sometimes but this is expected from this hotel...

aircondition was very good and kept the room cold which was great when coming back from the hot weather outside...

location is good in the king abdulaziz complex infront of the haram with direct access to the shopping centre and restaurants below....

Dear valued guest,

Thank you for your stay at Movenpick Hotel & Residence Hajar Tower Makkah. Whilst learning of your pleasure experience and comments on our location and some of the services, it is bit discomfort to note the inconvenience caused by the noisy atmosphere and bathrooms and we duly apologize for that.

Kindly allow me to clarify you that it is merely due to ongoing construction of neighbouring buildings and Makkah is under now mass development program and part of Haram expansion project which is now common in all the neighbouring hotels in Haram.

Once again I regret for the inconvenience caused to you during your stay with us, please do contact me for any further assistance at Movenpick Hotel Makkah. We look forward to welcoming you and your family in near future at Movenpick Makkah.

Warm regards

We had excellent stay in Movenpick Makkah. Employees were very friendly even though the hotel was very busy.

We enjoyed the Ifthatar Buffet, the large selection and the arrangements in general was really fantastic.

The Moroccan tea corner was taking attention of every one. Tea was really good and it was crowded.

And of course very conveniently located near to Haram.

Thank you
Kitbi

I stayed here just two days ago with my family. The hotel is conveniently located near the harem. The hotel is located above one of the largest malls in the city, and it's easier to access the harem going through the mall. You can see the Harem King Abdul Aziz Gate 1 (about 100 feet) from the entrance of the mall and the entrance is about a 2 minute walk from the hotel elevators. The Breakfast was nice, decent variety.

Now the cons, the arab receptionist that I came across was during check-in was amazingly rude and arrogant, it was as if I was staying at the hotel and he is paying for it or something. We had just arrived from the airport ( we had to wait at the airport about 6 hours to get to immigration), so being very tired and rather frustrated, the Arab man simply just made me furious by saying that the hotel is booked for 2 pax. and when i showed him the hotel confirmation letter, he just stood to his original explanation, Later I had to call the Manager to straighten things out. We went up to the room to find that the sink in the washroom gets jammed but then again we were so tired that we didn't even bother to call House Keeping. The next morning, when we returned at afternoon from umrah, we found that the floor drying mats were gone so we just later had to get used to the idea of not having ever in the first place as because we called House Keeping and the person on the other end of the phone could only speak arabic which i don't understand at all.

Overall, this is actually a good hotel (mostly because of its location and the room size) but the people working at the reception should be trained to be a bit less ruder and maybe learn to apologize if they are wrong.

Room Tip: Maybe learn some arabic before you get to the hotel.

Movenpick Makkah located very close to Haram.

I enjoyed staying with my family, very friendly employees at the reception and porter service.
We got nice room with Haram view, amazing view from our room!

I had Dinner and Breakfast from the hotel, we had to come down to lobby and go up with other elevator to the restaurant. (it could be better if the same elevator could stop in the restaurant level). The interior of the restaurant was not that much, but the verity of Food Selection was excellent. Compare to other hotels in my past experience in Makah, Movenpick have better variety and quality.
I will definitely visit this hotel again in coming Ramadan for an umra.
