My friend and I are doing some long-term world travel, and had the chance to stay at the Salome Hotel during our time in Madaba (three separate nights total). The beds are clean, the rooms are comfortable (and feature balconies and heat/AC), and the staff is friendly and helpful.
The breakfast at Salome is quite solid. Nothing extravagant, but more than enough to prep you for your day: Coffee/tea, cereal and milk, eggs, pancakes (with some fig-type syrup that I became addicted to), mixed vegetables, and a few other items.
Probably the most unique feature of Salome is the well-stocked DVD selection in the lobby. All the rooms include DVD players, so you can pick a DVD out from the first floor (for me, it was Watchmen and Eastern Promises) and watch something you actually enjoy.
Also, as a bonus: Free Internet. I've spent a lot of time in hotels on this trip, and free WiFi is something you come to really value.
Anyway, if you're going to Madaba for religious tourism (it's walking distance to the center of the city), or Amman for something more mainstream (only a few minutes away), I'd recommend this hotel.More
