The hotel was great value for the dollar. It was clean, quiet and just 3-4 blocks from main area around St Georges church. They connected me with a great taxi driver named Tawfeeq. He was very helpful to me and even to others we encountered on the trip. He is a genuine person that is extremely pleased to show you much about his country and this is not " just a job for him ".

Salome Hotel turned out to be one of the best choices we've made on holiday in Jordan. Breakfasts were ample and tasty and the 24 hour room service kept us well fed. Free wireless, DVD'S and books to read and enjoy, apart from the comfy rooms got our attention. Within easy walking distance of other landmarks in Madaba and shops. What a relief to find a pre printed list with all day trips clearly set out and priced. We visited the Dead Sea and Bethany with the wonderfully, valuable Mr. Tarfeeq Salahat as our guide and driver. If you want to see the best that Madaba and surrounding areas have to offer, he is your answer. Salome Hotel and Mr. Tarfeeq coordinated the trips. No more fall outs with uncouth taxi drivers. We enjoyed being able to arrange all of our travelling trips beforehand, and being able to budget for them.
A place we would recommend to all age groups. The best part was; having been treated as family.

After our stay in Amman, which wasn't the most pleasant, our stay in Madaba was lovely. You get much better value for your money here and the Salome Hotel is a great example of this. We paid £10 less here than we did for our Amman hotel and we had a very enjoyable 3 nights. The rooms are very clean and tidy, they all have their own TV and DVD players, and there is a large collection of DVDs, so in the evenings after dinner, you can return to your hotel room and crash out in front of a good movie! The staff on reception spoke good English and were always very helpful in offering suggestions for good restaurants and helped us book our bus ticket onto Petra.

I hate to stay in Amman, so I choose to sleep in Madaba. And it was a right decision! Madaba is by far nearer to the Queen Alia Airport, and there are a lot of places to see! This hotel is run by the same owner of Hotel Maryam near Salome, and both of them are very good hotels. The staffs are helpful, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. You can also enjoy the nice view of the hotel garden.
A small tip. If you're interested in spending your time with local Christians, I recommend you to stay in Madaba.
