This is an excellent family run restaurant very close to the Roman ruins of Jerash. It is very large but everything is freshly cooked. They have a real bread oven and the bread is fabulous. All the meat is prepared and butcherd in the restaurant and it is all open to be seen and immaculately clean. They also have their own farms supplying the produce and meat.
The restaurant is outside in the garden but covered and shady with a cooling fountain. The mezze and kebabs were beautifully cooked. A very delicious set lunch. Our driver took us there- he has eaten there with his family for years and it was an excellent recommendation. Not an obvious tourist restaurant and all local food. The staff are charming and the service was excellent.
I can't recommend it highly enough.

Our driver took us to this restaurant after a day walking through the ruins of Jerash. What a great experience. The place was large with lot's of local patrons (did not see any tourists) but the service was great and fast. They bake their own flat bread and their mixed grill platter comes with a variety of sauces, hummus dips and salads. What a great experience of Arabic food. It was delicious, the salads and hummus were very good and all the green trees and plants made for a nice cool break. The owner even came by to see if we enjoyed the food. The waiters did speak English, but we had a local driver, which made communication even easier. It was also nice to see how local families go out to eat and how they interact with each other. At the end of the meal, you can smoke a hookah if you want to. They have hundreds to choose from and males and females smoke them at the table. What a nice insight into Jordan society. I would go back there again even if it was a bit out of our way.

Our party left another Jerash restaurant--one that had come well recommended--after a thirty-minute wait that didn't bring us as much as a bottle of water (and that was after a fifteen-minute wait to be seated), and decided to try our luck elsewhere. Tired, hungry, and thirsty from a day at the Jerash ruins, we happened upon the Green Valley and decided to give it a shot--and we were so happy that we did. We were seated as soon as we entered, before we even had a chance to ask for one a large bottle of water was left at our table, and within minutes we had a large selection of mezzes, individual mixed grill plates, and bread in front of us.

The service was prompt and very friendly, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was charming--it was a large space, but we felt as though we were in a forest glen. Lots of locals, lots of families, obviously popular.

Okay, I'll make one complaint--the music was a bit loud, and we could have done without hearing the disco version of "Happy birthday" twice in a row. But by the end of a delightful dinner, I was more than happy to forgive the restaurant on that front!
