We stay here, luckily, for only 1 night. We think there was only one other guest at the time, so clearly its not a popular hotel at the moment.
The room was very dingy and smelled strongly of smoke, including the towels and bedclothes. We didn't sleep under the 'covers' as they were just a rough wool blanket and a dull colour bottom sheet.
Bathroom was dirty, old and very small. The shower water pressure was very low.
Breakfast was a boiled egg and make your own coffee which we didn't bother with.
We booked the Kings Highway tour down to Petra, the wife and I had to pay for the full JD100 as there were no other guests to take the tour. Generally OK but when we arrived Petra we asked the driver if he could drop us at our hotel near the entry of the site but he refused and dumped us in the middle of a residential area. He said take a taxi, when we stated there weren't any to be seen he said 'lots of taxis'. We saw none and it was lucky a passing local asked if he could drop us over at the hotel in his car.
This is a hostel, and not even a very good one. Location is central but since taxis are cheap you might as well stay further out as there's not much to see anyway in Amman.

Great location, just off the busy main street so that stops it from being too loud. The staff were very helpful and spoke English well. The day trips they have are also excellent and quite good value for money and also great for meeting other people. The only bad thing I would have to say is the waste paper bins in the toilet often weren't changed daily but I'm sure if I had of requested this it wouldn't have been a problem. Highly recommend and will stay here again if ever make it back to Amman.

We stayed in a double room for 3 nights. The location is great but the rooms and communal areas are not to write home about. On the other hand, the staff is super helpful, they even managed to get us a car in the middle of the night.

Guidebook (Footprint) said this was recommended as a decent budget hostel with spotlessly clean bathrooms. Sadly this must have be out of date. Reception were fine and welcoming (as long as you don't mind continuous smoking), and we used their airport transfer who was pricey but fine and waited for us to come through visa collection which took ages as the system went down. The double room was basic but ok and quiet enough as it's on a back street, but the bathrooms were beyond terrible and I have stayed in some really grim hostels. Spent two nights there and cannot recommend you stay.

Colder than a fridge. Chain smoking owners. Slamming doors all night. Beds and linen not been cleaned in months.

In short. Find another place.

Located in the heart of down town Amman, this hostel is really good value for money if you are on a budget. The breakfast is eadible, but not the tastiest in the Middle East. Staff are friendly and dormitories clean. Do not expect much, except a basic, clean average hostel. If you are a regular backpacker on a shoestring budget, this place will appeal to you. I plan to return there in July 2012 and again in December 2012.

20 yr old male travelling with 60 yr old mum.
Bang for your buck accom (so don't complain!)
Airport transfer was not welcoming and a bit intimidating (and smoking in the van).
The hotel is access by a flight of stairs but just off the road parallel to one of the main roads and is really convenient!
Breakfast is as described by other reviewers simple but enough to get you on your way.
Staff were friendly and helpful and they do run tours from the hotel which is handy and a nice atmosphere downstairs in the dining area with other travellers.
Rooms were pretty cold in winter (I think out air con was playing up) and beds weren't that comfy and ensuite was TINY (shared bathroom is actually better)...but if you just want somewhere cheap and convenient to crash then it's great!
