Had booked into Le Royal through 1800hotels.com, but they messed up teh booking and they had no record of us staying at Le Royal which was really annoying considering it was midnight and we were all tired. There were not enough rooms in Le Royal and 1800hotels.com would do nothing to help us, so we got teh money refunded and asked Le Royal to phone local hotels.

Fortunately there were rooms available at Belle Vue located closer to Amman downtown at 2nd circle.

Hotel rooms were large and clean with great views overlooking Amman. Bathrooms were tiny but clean. King size beds were very comfortable.

Breakfast selection was good and we ate at the Italian within the hotel which was nice.

In all, although we were not supposed to stay here, but we had 2 comfortable nights for less money than we were going to pay at Le Royal, but we were sacrificing the 5* hotel for 3.5*.

We decided to splurge and stay "somewhere nice" even though the price was a bit high but we thought it would be worth it for our last night in Europe however the room was dissapointing, very average, not that clean, worth half as much in other hotels and then we were promised breakfast the next day but a mousy brown haired clerk said we weren't paid for breakfast took us out of the breakfast room and wouldn't call a manager or anyone or do anything remotely helpfull to see that we were promised breakfast with our already very expensive room., we finally gave up and left and since we were on our way to the plane didn't get breakfast till afternoon.. We were treated very poorly worse then some of the just as nice half as much roomed hotels we stayed in, was our worst experience in a hotel in Europe, and we had lots of experiences with hotels and wanted a good one for the last night...and mostly our beef was with the really horrible service we got from this rude, incompetent morning hotel desk lady, however the whole thing was just very dissapointing and overpriced. Trust me go somewhere else!!

Dont believe anything written this was one of the worse hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff did not care about guests and the meals were cold, cold cold. Often the mealtimes were late, and the table cloths dirty and unlaid, whilst they served the local community on time.Sometimes we did not eat until 9 p.m. The bedrooms were not cleaned, as when we returned from a tour a week later to the same room, we found receipts etc., that we had dropped near the bed still there. The bed sheet did not fit the king sized bed so we ended up sleeping on the mattress - disgusting. They even wanted to charge us 2 D. for milk!!!!!!!! Be warned,

Whilst I agree with most of the comments on this hotel with reference to the room sizes and cleanliness I do however have an issue with the service/food there.
The food which we were served was of a very poor quality, one evening meal almost completely ran out, the staff seem to bend over backwards for the locals and treat holiday makers with indifference. On two occasions during our 4 night stay we had to wait until 8:30 pm before we could eat on the last occasion although our evening meal was paid for within the price of our holiday we eat decided to out at the Intercontinental which is a 5 minute walk away, they served 6 of us with an excellent, hot, fresh and well presented meal all the staff were very friendly unlike the Bellevue.
We took our own "brewing kit" and we went to the little shop next to the hotel to buy some milk but they only sell some wierd milk with saltwater added, so we asked in the dining room staff if we could have half a glass of milk they said that we could if we paid them 2 JD (about £1.80)!
There are no facilities to buy an alcoholic drink at the hotel or any areas where one can socialise with other guests, to sum up, nice hotel but look elsewhere for somewhere to eat.

This hotel is a real find. I paid $ 50 for a room with breakfast. On arrival, there was a tour group so I got upgraded to a huge room on the 9th floor with a big, comfortable queen size bed, a generous size sitting area, a decent size bathroom and large floor to ceiling windows with magnificent views of Amman. It was so good to see the old
city of Amman twinkling at night while i slept with the curtains open.

The breakfast's selection included both Arabic and Western dishes.

I really couldn't find a single fault with the hotel. The staff also were vert courteous and helpful and befoore you leave, you have to try
their amazing pizzas at their Downtown restaurant.

A great stay
