“Great Service and location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2013

This hotel goes out of its way to please you.

At check in they bring you fresh juice

The rooms are clean and linens fine.

Everything actually works

Buy the meal plan the food in the resto is great as well

There is a huge local market behind the hotel Thurs Fri which makes it all the more worthwhile!

The pool is small and has male female only rules so if you want to swim check your days with the hotel. Fridays are closed for the pool

Have fun and enjoy

Pleasant hotel with attentive and helpful staff.
Large welcoming open foyer with adjacent lounge area with free wi-fi.
Spa, pool and sauna facilities at basement level.
Decent size and proportioned twin rooms although as a group we would have preferred adjacent rooms with interconnecting doors!
Good selection at breakfast caters for most tastes and appetite
As a group, we would have appreciated adjacent/ adjoining rooms

Room Tip: Rooms facing the bus station and main road are noisier, althought the inner 'courtyard' faci...

I have stayed for 3 nights at Toledo, Amman. Overall look of the hotel is good. Excellent free breakfast with many choices of food. It has two separate genders' gyms and swimming pools. The pool is not big enough for doing laps. 15 minutes walk from downtown. There are very nearby banks, pharmacies, grocery shops, and restaurants. The room size is just enough for one person. TV is about 37 inch LCD. I thought that the carpet, curtains, and bed sheets are old and need renewal. Cleaning was prompt, but do not expect five stars service. I was not satisfied with the first smoking room given to me. However, the second room was non smoking with a higher floor. Staff are very considerate, polite, and helpful. I would consider staying there again, if there are no better choices for the same price.

First impressions: The ordinary-looking façade hides an elegant Old World-designed lobby: marbled floors, elegant décor, rich fabric. Hmm... quite classy, I thought. Averaging about £51 pp per night, its cost is at par among its peers for its 3-star rating.

PROS: Although there are cheaper hotels in the area (Pasha and Larsa Hotels come to mind), it is of good value for what you get. The rooms are big and clean. Having a business centre, gym and a swimming pool for guests are big pluses. Having free parking, free WiFi at the lobby and wheelchair access does not hurt either. A complimentary buffet breakfast with lots of variety comes with your stay. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful. The reception desk provides city maps and can assist you with sightseeing tours or airport transfers. The hotel is even adjacent to the Al Abdali bus station.

CONS: Location is not its best asset, but it is a leisurely 20-min walk downhill to the city centre and to the Citadel, a tourist site. While walking back uphill can be a chore, nothing beats a quick 2JOD taxi ride. Nothing much to see around the hotel area itself, except for the King Abdullah Mosque, Jordan National Gallery and a shopping mall 5 blocks north of the hotel. As it's adjacent to a mosque, be prepared to be startled by the Islamic call to prayer at 5:00 AM every day. (But then, all the hotels in the area have this problem.) More importantly, the adjacent bus station doubles as a flea market/bazaar every Wed through Thursday nights so get used to diesel generators, noisy vendors and blaring car horns way deep into the night.

Liked: Good value, service

Disliked: None really, except for the weekly market noise.

Verdict: I'd say good value for what you get. It's not perfect. While there are a lot of positives, the negatives are almost non-issues. Recommended. Grade A-minus.

Room Tip: Rooms at the Al-Razi street side are quiet but lacks the view, whereas rooms at the Al-Abdali side h...

Stayed at the Toledo for the second time and on arrival was given the warmest of welcomes and upgraded to a suite. The room was clean and very comfortable. The food on offer was a little limited and not really to the best standard. This is my only negative observation in what I feel is a well priced and excellent place to stay.

I stayed 4 nights in The Toledo, 23rd night until 26th February night. The hotel is nice, the staff very attentive to your smallest needs. Some slight suggestions.....At breakfast, the milk for the cereals was still in cartons.....I am sure the hotel is affluent enough to invest in 2 glass jugs....the cartons spill milk and are uncomfortable to handle ! Other than this, I enjoyed my stay & will go back again. On the flip side, I miss the bar......but the hotel makes up with a fridge.

Room Tip: Please DEMAND a room away from the mosque.....! It starts getting noisy from 5.20 AM !!

This hotel was a perfect haven for relaxation after a long day spent walking in the mid town ! Our room was large and comfortable, with a little sitting area. The bathroom was clean and the service was nice . I enjoyed the dinner and breakfast buffets.
