“I love it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2010

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our Jordan trip. We booked the executive floor with access to the lounge at a very reasonable rate of JD160 inclusive of tax. The executive floor package is a great deal as you can have excellent full buffet breakfast in the Kempi restaurant and food/beverages in the executive lounge throughout the day. We (group of 7) spent quite a bit of time relaxing in the lounge. The servers were courteous and constantly asking if we needed our drinks refilled. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfy. The front desk was efficient and helpful.

Just recently stayed here and found this hotel to be excellent. the hotel itself was very clean and the rooms themselves were also very clean, and the beds I found to be very comfortable. I found the staff there to be very pleasent and helpful (which went a long way for my first experience in the middle east). It's located a bit of a distance from the airport, but that was okay. The cost is a little on the higher end if your trying to stay in a small budget, but for what you got I found that we were getting a great deal. I would reccommend this to anyone who wishes to spend some time in Amman. To get around from this hotel you can hire a driver from the hotel (Europcar) or get yourself a taxi. We hired a driver for a couple days. it was very very expensive, and I'm sure we payed way too much, but it was totaly worth it. Our driver Adnan was absolutely amazing.

Kempinski Amman is part of a Jordan Package offered us by our travel agent. We stayed there on our first and last night in Jordan. Having lived in a now deceased local Kempinski Kuwait 3 years ago for almost one year, looking forward for a good time and good service there.
Kempinski Amman is located in Shmeisani Area in Amman. The hotel building is very nice, with high ceilinged reception area and the hotel bar next to it. There is a man in full Arabic outfit who offered Arabic coffee while we were waiting for check-in. Check-in was done very fast and efficient. Luggage service was average, not as fast as we expected with not that many people checking in at same time.
Entering the hotel, security is really tight. They checked the car, then x-rays your luggage prior to your entering the reception area. However this also gives a comfortable feeling of being in a safe environment.
The elevators at Kempinski Amman have see-through glass walls, elevator doors and elevator shaft. That way you can see the outside world and each floors too from the elevators, and they can see you in it as well!
The rooms are very nice and modern, with full amenities to expect from a 5-star Kempinski hotel anywhere. The only surprise is that they still have the bulky TV instead of switching to flat screen as most hotels in Asia.
The arrangement in the bathroom's bathtub/shower is quite odd. Instead of providing a sliding glass wall that goes along the length of the bathtub or a simple shower curtain, there is a glass panel installed closest to the showerhead, with a hinged extension panel that act as a "door" - but the total lengthof the contracption only covers like 1/4 of the bathtub's length! The extension/door is not sealing well, too, so everytime you take shower the water will splatter outside of the bathtub. The bathroom floor is always wet after every shower!
The Kempi restaurant offered very nice breakfast. Not too many choices, but there is more than enough to keep everybody happy. Italian restaurant Via Appia is nice too, sadly the service is quite slow. Maybe this is due to the limited number of people working there so even it is not a busy evening it takes quite a while to get served.
Being a fitness buff, the 24/7 gym there is a very big plus. There is enough cardio and weightlifting equipments to use, of good quality brands, and not that many people are using it in the early mornings.
The swimming pool at Kempinski Amman is very nice too. However it closes down a little early at 7 PM. I believe it has something to do with the attendants' working hours since they are there to take care of the gym and pool between 7 AM and 7 PM only. I personally do not see the reasons why people cannot use the pool until later than 7 PM if it wasn't for safety - but the pool is only 1.3 meters deep!
What really makes the difference in Kempinski Amman are the people. They are more than willing to help us when our key cards fails several times over (putting it too close to cellphones always do the trick...). The concierge gives out very good advice on where to eat and even made the booking and book the taxi for us. he also advised on how to get to Mecca mall and City mall (two largest malls in Amman). The reception people were very helpful and help exchange some bills with smaller change (for tips, taxi etc) and even waived the charge for a snickers bar taken from the in-room bar at the last night.
Kempinski Amman is a highly recommended hotel if you want to stay in a very modern, plush hotel in Amman with very helpful staff and nice amenities.

We had just two nights at the Kempinski in Amman starting with a very late night arrival after out flight to Jordan. We were certainly very pleased with the comfortable, very reasonably sized room and good sized bathroom after a relatively long day travelling. Throughout our stay all staff were very pleasant and helpful - we particularly liked the very smiley waiter who wielded the coffee jug at breakfast and provided very timely refills. We had two breakfasts and dinners at the hotel - both meals were buffet style offering plenty of choice and catering for both western and arabian palates. As a vegetarian I found enough to satisfy myself - mains at dinner tended to be meaty but there was a good variety of salad and mezze style food to make a tasty meal. There is a very pleasant bar area and in summer an outdoor swimming pool is in operation - the terrace looked very pleasant but it was too early in the year for us to test that particular facility. Security at the hotel is very tight - checks carried out on vehicles and people on arrival. it's difficult for me to comment on location as we were on an organised tour with transport provided and so didn't get a feel for the hotel's position in relation to the sites you might want to visit in Amman - but the immediate vicinity seemed quite pleasant with a number of cafes and coffee shops. All in all we thought it a very pleasant stay for a couple of nights,

its a nice hotel, clean and modern... yet a few issue about would not make me recommend it to anyone;
1. very small rooms. (the bathroom was spacious though).
2. its location.
3. rates are relatively high (taking into consideration the 2 points above).
4. Above all the number 1 reason is because you'll find a huge variety of hotels with better location, rooms, and prices.

The hotel is situated in the business area a few miles from the centre, but has some shops, banks etc nearby. The building is modern with some style yet with comfort. We stayed on the Executive floor so can't comment on other floors. Our room was not large but adequate; it was very comfortable but didn't have any coffee/tea-making facility. The main restaurant we used for breakfast and dinner had a superb choice of tasty food in buffet style including both International and Arabic food. The staff were all friendly and helpful

I really liked this hotel. Clean, well done rooms. Not real large, but very nice. Excellent breakfasts. Extreamly friendly staff. Lightening fast and efficient elevators.

I have traveled a lot for work in many different countries and this is one of the nicer hotels overall that I have ever stayed in.
