Excellent hotel. Must stay. I have stayed in many Amman hotels and have to say this is one of the best. From limousine airport pickup to drop off. Check in took a minute with a surprising upgrade to the Regency Club executive floor, very clean and spacious room, a huge 24 hours room service menu and high speed wifi connection all over the hotel. Also had dinner at Traders Vics an what a shock. Attentive welcome by the manager and professional yet friendly service with excellent food all coupled with Latin music and superb cocktails. A must do for a traveller in Amman. Will be back.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights in June 2013 during a Trafalgar Tour of Jordan. It is a grand 20 floor building. My room was spacious and comfortable while the overall décor of the hotel is rich and lavish but somewhat faded.

The hotel staff were friendly and determined to make my stay an enjoyable experience. The Al Madafa Restaurant on the mezzanine floor is the main dining area. During my stay I had breakfasts, a lunch and evening meals here. The smorgasbord buffets that were on offer at each of these meals were extensive and well presented (although on my first morning, most of the breakfast dishes were cold). There is also an a la carte option available at lunchtime.

Prices for meals and drinks are not cheap as everything has a 10% service charge plus 16% government tax. So a small bottle of beer listed at JD 5.50 (JD = Jordanian dinar) actually cost JD 7.00. (At the time, a Jordanian dinar equalled one British pound.)

The hotel is on a busy road but just a short walk (about 1km) to a shopping area.

Room Tip: Opt for a room on a non-smoking floor

Nice Hotel, antique, nice reception, good diversity and quality of food (open buffet).
Some of the rooms has a bad odor (humid old carpet odor).
Some of bathroom appliances, some light bulbs are functionless.
The bath tub is not working.
The electrical outlets are all of one type, 2 inlets only, with one piece of convertor to a 3 inlet outlet, however, they will supply you with another one if you ask.
Laundry is good, slightly delaying.
I hate the coffee they serve in the restaurant, it's just an instant coffee, it should be real American coffee made from beans, the grinding at the time of order and brewed in any machine.
They have a nice Piano playing in the evening.
Overall, it's comfortable.

I was on a small group tour to Jordan. The manager came to welcome us to the hotel and said that we could contact him if we needed anything. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent. My bathroom needed renovation and the room smelled of smoke but we were too tired to request another room.

We stayed for two nights in April. Our room was on the Club level and it was fine to stay in for a couple of nights although far from Club standard at other hotels we've stayed in and far from luxurious. The room was clean and passed our standard test, but just. The view of the city from the room was great. The hotel is located on a busy road and to cross it, the nearby footbridge/overpass came in very handy! There's a small shopping and cafe district about 5-10 minutes walk away near a couple of five-star hotels and a few ATM's too. But be careful crossing the busy roads to get there. There's also a little shop selling basic supplies just across the road from the hotel. The food was good at both dinner and breakfast. The staff were helpful and friendly and the lady in the little gift shop in the lobby was also very helpful. The bar area was dark and full of smoke but staff quickly ushered us to a table where it would not bother us too much when we had our pre-dinner drinks on both nights. An adequate way to begin a week in Jordan and overall, not too bad for a short stay.

Room Tip: Maybe try and get a room on Club level with a city view. The room we had there was quite adequate however, giving it was a Club room, we couldn't help but wonder about the lesser quality of the standard rooms.
