Only one complaint with this hotel. The luxury suite next to us had asked for a new bed at 1:30am apparently. Which meant their door was banging constantly for 2 hours 2 nights in a row on a three night holiday for us. Two complaints made verbally and then in person at reception with absolutely no resolution made. Checked out and no apology made either. Was upsetting as otherwise the stay was good, The hotel resturaunts are great, good atmosphere and the rooms are fantastic but the interactions with reception staff was poor.

Excellent service, from top to bottom they do a great job of quickly addressing any issues or needs. Definitely recommend stopping for a tea with the gentlemen at the entrance. One escorted me around a expo of Lebanese vendors. Staff also helped me reserve a car for the weekends.

You can hire a hotel taxi for a bit more or grab a yellow cab on the street. I recommend walking a block or so, don't accept the offers of the cabbies right outside the hotel - they ask ridiculous prices. Make sure the drivers use the meters.
Rheem shwarma is two blocks towards Rainbow Street (off second circle) if you're looking for quick, cheap eats.
Was horribly sick following an evening in the hotel Indian restaurant.
Be careful if you get a room with a pool view: The hotel hosts weddings on Fridays, Saturdays and some weekdays. Expect loud music, bagpipes (no kidding, bagpipes!) and even fireworks in some cases. Interesting to watch at first, but slept with earplugs after a while.
Gym is phenomenal - well stocked, open 24/7 for hotel guests. Hot tub, indoor and outdoor pool. Indoor pool might as well be a hot tub, the outdoor pool is quite brisk in the mornings - great for an a.m. wakeup.

Room Tip: You might be tempted to have a pool view (which can be very nice during the day) but very loud on th...

Company choice. Not disappointed when I visited (second time).

As expected of a quality gloabl chain everything is efficient, friendly well trained staff, good restaurants, comforatble room (beds a tad too soft me as I prefer harder ones) and my stay there was extremely pleasant

Looking forward to the next time

I booked the cheapest online rate (single room) and was upgraded to a club room when I arrived. Room was very nice with city view. It looked newly refurbished and was very spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was also spacious with shower and separate bath tub. First night was slightly noisy (due to guests in an upstairs room, after that it was very quiet). Staff and Concierge were very friendly and helpful with organising trips. Gym and spa staff also very friendly and great cardio equipment in the gym. I felt very comfortable and safe at this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

I have been stayed in several hotels in Amman and this is the hotel for me. Very frindly staff, very classy rooms, very good breakfast. Cinco de Mayo is great as a bar or as a restaurant. Burj Hammam is also nice but you had better make reservation. I was not happy since people smoke at restaurants

If you're in Amman on business - and your company will reserve a room in the 'deluxe' wing of the hotel - this is a good place to stay. As others have mentioned, the staff are friendly, the service is good and the 'deluxe' rooms - are spacious. It also 'pays' to become a member of the IHG club (free wifi in 2014). Breakfast is also very good - and the location is reasonable for all parts of the city. Is it a 5-star hotel though? When compared with its sister hotels in Dubai, Muscat or Istanbul, for example, I'd say in Amman - you're looking at a good 4-star service with a 5-star reception area. Also, if you happen to have a noisy family on the floor above - you'll be able to hear the children having fun.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the deluxe wing.

We've stayed at several Intercontinental Hotels and this was by far one of the least satisfying. The room was on the small size and barely had a city view despite what we were promised on our booking. We also found that the staff could not really understand us and though the breakfast was quite delicious, the pricing structure was dishonest. The price was listed at one thing, then tax was added and then when we added a total tip, they decided it was per person rather than for the table, effectively doubling the amount we had left. When we called to ask why this was the case they did not change this even out of courtesy. Not acceptable.

I'm not one to complain or demand that everyone cater to Americans or foreigners but this is a multinational hotel and it seems that an ability to communicate effectively is not too much to ask. We persistently ran into troubles on this front with the front desk.

The concierge on the other hand was helpful. But unless you want to use their overpriced cabs, they won't help you hail one from the street. It's quite a money making racket in many ways. You have to walk to the main street and hail one oyurself--hardly what you expect from a 5 star hotel.

Basically, there are a lot of hidden costs here. The service is just slightly off and if you're expecting the kind of amazing 5 star service you might in other hotels in the region of the same caliber, you won't get it here, unless perhaps, you overtly reek of money.

This hotel is also not particularly close to anything. You might as well save money and stay somewhere else that is closer to other places.
