The room we stayed in was of a good size, but Amman is hot in the summer, and without air conditioning, the air in the room felt continually stale. It was so hot in the night it was hard to get a decent sleep. In addition, a noisy restaurant next door kept us up till early morning hours.

The shared bathroom facilities are adequate but very roughshod and dated.

The lounge area has a good vibe, but unfortunately smells quite strongly of cigarette smoke.

Positives: The staff is helpful and friendly. The location is close to many things, like good street markets and restaurants. However, the area is also quite polluted and noisy.

Don't be freaked out by the dingy and somewhat smelly stairwell one must climb to Cliff! Come here if you want to save coin for enjoying Amman's great attractions, culture, and food. Our room was large, and you could get a nice cross-breeze between the large windows and the little hatch in the door. Accommodation was basic but clean, and the owner had just replaced the mattresses. Wi-fi was functional and included in the price. Staff were knowledgeable, available, and spoke English well. You can easily meet other travelers in the small lounge. Plus, the location (in the heart of downtown Amman, right across from Hashem's Restaurant) is fabulous.

The Cliff Hostel is a barebones, budget hostel – probably the cheapest in Amman. To its advantage the staff are friendly and informative. The location is great and the price for a room is very agreeable. The shared bathrooms and shower are basic (what you’d expect in a budget accommodation). The Wi-Fi was active (included in the room rate) while we were there.

Disadvantages include noisy neighbors and street life, and tired décor and amenities.

The bottom line: The Cliff is perfect for budget travelers.

Nice people who run the place, great vibe , cool balcony ... The common room is good if you don't mind passive smoking your lungs out. The rooms are basic, bathrooms ok but bring toilet paper... Also make sure the staff give you the right price for the rooms... Good location opposite a great cheap restaurant... Overall good value and decent service. The staff are knowledgable about anything Amman which they're happy to share

Don't expect too much from this hostel as it only provides basic bedspace especially for the amount ou are about to pay. The staffs were very friendly and provided information very well, adding in a joke or two. Not to say it is located in front of my favorite restaurant and due to its near proximity, you can still be connected to wifi while having dinner! An incentive for a solo traveller like me!

However, if u are allergic to smoke, don't stay here as everyone is smoking. It's the vultures here though. :)

Stayed here first night in Jordan and the guys here were amazing, really helpful and friendly. the rooms are not 5 star but you don't expect it paying 10JD a night, the beds are fine for a couple of nights and there is hot water. Close walk to ruins and the local restaraunt across the road is great for dinner and really cheap too. Excellent welcome to Jordan.

Great place to stay when you first arrive in Jordan because the staff here welcome you with open arms and treat you so well you will immediately love Jordan. They provided a cheap transportation to visit the Dead Sea the day we arrived, 10 JD per person.
The rooms were not amazing but we expected that as we only paid 10 JD for a twin room! Which is the cheapest in Jordan! Note to travellers there are fake reviews on trip advisor, so try to do some research on your hotels and tours in advance :)
The hostel is a very close walk to all the roman old ruins in the area called downtown. Worth a visit and only 2 JD entrance!
Also ask the hotel guys best place to eat, because they pointed out across the road was very cheap and yummy Jordanian food, 1 JD each plate!
We caught a jet bus to Petra the next morning for 9 JD, and the jet office was 2JD by taxi from the hotel :)
definitely would stay here again just to say hello to the awesome staff. Happy travelling!
