Levant has a deserved reputation in Amman as amongst the best in town. Located in an older, upmarket area of the city, it's off the tourist track and as such a really pleasant experience.
The dining room is tastefully decorated and there is a lovely outdoor terrace for the warmer months. Service is efficient and friendly and, even with a full room as it was when we visited for Friday lunch, we were well attended and taken care of.
Don't miss the house specialities - angus beef shwarma, lamb kebab cooked with cherries, freekah risotto and the shosbarak (small meat filled pastries covered in tomato and yogurt). Leave room for them amongst all the other temptations - fantastic fatoush, humos with meat and pine nuts, halloumi and kibbeh.

Levant is one of the best Lebanese/Levantine restaurants in Amman. Amman does not have excellent, "chef-driven" restaurants, so its best to stick to this genre if just visiting. While Levant is not necessarily my favorite, we've still been three times and it will not disappoint. The staff is friendly. Food is pricier, but worth it. You can try all of the typical favorites. The wine list is pretty good. The location is great, and the villa the restaurant is located in is cozy and nice, if a little cramped.

The Levant is certainly among the best restaurants in town. The quality of food is excellent and the service is as expected for a restaurant of that level. The Levant is known to be an "Armenian" restaurant. Frankly I did not find a great deal of difference from the other medio-oriental restaurants in Amman. But maybe I was not able to spot the Armenian dishes.
The mezzeh are good and as a main dish the shawarma is a must. I also found the bread among the best I had.
Prices are not cheap but are in line with that level of restaurant.
