“Nice at night, normal during the day”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

THis street goes to life at night with tons of cafes and restaurants. It is nice but you can encounter some dodgy people on the way. Nothing worrying though. My advice is scan the street first then pick a favourite spot and sit for a drink/bit/shisha. If you are there at night, check out Jara market off rainbow. Well worth the visit.

“experience the colours of the rainbow here”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

Have been on holiday in jordan for 3 weeks now and in Amman visited a couple of malls as well as downtown . Then we happened to chance upon rainbow street
Ended up spending a whole day here and coming back another afternoon
Its not that there is too much to do but like other reviewers I loved the cross cultural vibe it has
there is the beautiful soap house with its lovely views , the show room of the jordan river foundation , mlabbas , and other souvenir shops which are surprisingly not very overpriced
Of courseloved the food at sufra , we did try some lunch at the greek place mr.remos - was nice
toward evening we had the yummiest hot chocolate at gerards ,we sat at a little sit out overlooking the city and people watched youngsters ,students ,old people of all different back grounds come out ,there was a group of guys playing guitars .... such a nice sunset sitting there
there is also a sweet bible store called manama i think ,cute momentos with a good sense of humour . sadek home has interesting home stuff and the sweet shop owners in true jordanian fashion sometimes throw in free bies if you buy enough
A good place to spend a leisurely day

“Fun but a bit dodgy at times”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

Rainbow's concept is nice. A narrow street with lots of things going on it and off-road. Jara market close and lots of cafes. I like the atmosphere at night, quite dead during the day, but some dodgy people hanging around. Pick your time of visit wisely and scan street from beginning to end, won't take too much time, then pick a favourite cafe and enjoy your evening. While you are there grab a burger from firelfy, truly delicious!

“Crowded but nice place to hang out”
Reviewed May 7, 2014

Very crowded area; but nice place to hang out. You can find some local snacks on the street; and don't forget their famous falafel.

“Fun people watching”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

There aren't many places to go in Amman in the evening so Rainbow Street is pretty good as it goes for a drink (soft), a nargila and felafel, and some great small cafés/galleries. It is entertaining to watch people walk by, and drive by. About 5 minutes walk is Wild Jordan cafe! a great spot though pricey.
