“As good as a home cooked mancef”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

tried the mancef and mojadarah 3 time and the consistency is always there and it is truly the best mancef you can have outside a home cooked one

The service is quick and the cleanliness is very high standards. You can eat in and take away , might take you a little bit of cueing which is not very organized but definitely worth the trouble.

“Great Restaurant Mansef”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

Yes, the restaurant has many choices, but my favorite, when I visit Amman, is the mansef, the traditional rice, lamb or chicken with yogurt broth soup. I've had better mansef in Jordanian friends' homes, but Jabri's rendition of the local culinary delight is worth the calories! I have the chicken(only 1/4) which seemed to be a bit skimpy for the 5JD price tag. My friends had the lamb and both really enjoyed it. We finished the meal by sharing a sizable piece of kanafa, the semolina & cheese well known as a fine sweet in Jordan. Like most restaurants, beware of tabulah, the parsely, burgle salad that is often laced with amoeaba causing stomach problems.

“Many choices”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

There are two different locations within the same building. A location cafeteria style where you can eat in or take it out with the food being serviced in Styrofoam containers. There are both sweets and savory offered and the lunch crowd is heavy as well as in the evening for families.
Around the corner a very nice dining room, a nice reprieve from the heat since it is air conditioned, with cool marble floors and comfortable seats. The buffet was available and made the most sense since you have the opportunity to try a little of everything.
There were at least a dozen salads and appetizers, my favorite being the eggplant mixed with yogurt and garlic. My description is not the best, but salad was lovely and refreshing. The tabouli, homous and fatoush were fresh and well prepared. After sampling the olives it was off to the hot foods. There were both vegetarian and meat dishes, though we knew what we were there to eat - the mansaf and the kebab. You must special order the kebab, they prepare and deliver it to your table - very flavorful and piping hot. The presentation is beautiful, served with a thin piece of bread on both the top and bottom. The meat was flavored to perfection, with enough spice, parsley and of course lamb. The mansaf is placed on your plate sans rice and is only missing the roasted almonds and pine nuts to remind you of homemade. The yogurt it is cooked in is salty and rich enough with a hint of garlic. After sating ourselves we went to the desert section and were disappointed - the only disappointment of the restaurant. The waiter was very efficient and helpful. I love the way the bill is presented in a wooden box. Very discreet and classy.

“Sadly it is living now on its reputation”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

Jabri was one of the best restaurants in Amman but not anymore. Service is ok but food quality has declined over the past years. Last time I went I ordered lasagna and kebbeh in yogurt. I couldn't eat them and was forced to throw them away.

“Value and quality”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

Great value. Excellent food. I am not a fan of mansaf- I tried the other dishes. Authentic. More than one location.
