the pace is average from every way other than it's originality. A book store that u need to pass through to get to the seating area, which also has some displayed authentic accessories. the drawings on the walls and the colorful furniture. its the kind of place that u can go to when you are looking for a laid back outing with friends.

“An oasis in the old town.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014

Books@Café is a place I didn't like much to begin with, full of pretentious people with baseball caps and laptops, writing their Facebook statuses, but I grew to like it later.
The reason: They are open during Ramadan, serving coffee and sheesha and other delights to those who do not feel inclined to starve themselves.
The bookshop was not much when I got there first, but has grown and is now quite decent, among the best foreign books shops in Amman.
And the food isn't bad either.

“The hip place to be”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2014 via mobile

You'll immediately feel like all of Amman's cool people are here. Very chill with a decent bookshop, Books@Cafe has good food, good music, beautiful interior and great staff. Definitely worth checking it out if Youre passing by Rainbow street.

“Books@Cafe”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2014

I visited this place because of tripadvisor and other sites that recommended it as a must go. I liked the idea of the bookstore on the ground floor and the inner rooms of the cafe on the first floor were warm and cosy, but the terrace-like part was not inviting at all. Not very clean tables, they felt used and old, no warm atmosphere at all, just a noisy cafe without anything special. I don't know how everyone got to see the view, the windows were unclean and you almost couldn;t see the next table from the shisha smoke. The food though was surprisingly good, i didn;t expect it to be that good judging by its appearance. We had pizza and salad and both were perfect and quite cheap. Overall, id say i would try it again but early in the afternoon or for lunch, with the hope that it won;t be too crowded. (But their pizza is something you should try)
