Mel & Michelle is a gourmet restaurant situated in the busy Ben Yehuda street. Book in advance for 8-9pm to fully absorb the romantic candlelight atmosphere. The restaurant has an Italian-French theme and no dish was disappointing.
We started with Caprese of cherry tomatoes which was tasty but very small (all their piccoli dishes are miniature) and "Vitello Tonnato" - cold slices of veal with Tuna aioli sauce, anchovy and capers that proved delicious. For secondi we ordered the seared mullet with purple potato gnocchi (yum!) and oven roasted Corvina fillet which came with unbelievably divine sauce. Cherries and Mascarpone for dessert and we were good to go. Shame on the poor Espresso though that didn't make the bar even when they tried again.
The place has a quiet romantic vibe (inside), excellent service and great food. House wine also proved a good choice. Highly recommended.
