Visited Tapeos on February 24, 2014.

For 4 tapas, 1 cocktail, 2 soft drinks and 2 orders of bread the bill was $71 (248 NIS). For that kind of money you expect an incredible culinary experience, which this place was not even close to provide,
Guacamole didn't taste fresh
Shrimps were over-cooked.
I have never see a carpaccio stretched so thin - as a consequence it felt over-spiced, none too fresh.
The Ceviche was the only decent dish.
All dishes were tiny, maybe just big enough to cover pennies.

Even the service was not crisp - had to beg the staff twice for water and bread.

On the bright side, had the food been worthy, or maybe just adequate, i'm sure we would have enjoyed the smart, upscale interior design.

We had heard exciting things about this place for a while and decided it was time to check it out. The restaurant is focused on a lively and long bar; with some of the Tapas prepared at the bar. A large vat of Sangria awaits nearby. We had barramundi carpaccio, beef carpaccio, scallops in bacon, a carne asada type of thing, mini rump roast, and paella. All of it was tasty and done to near-perfection. But the prices were exorbitant for the fare. Tapas are supposed to be small treats; this place makes them the center of the menu; but then prices them like expensive appetizers (range 20 NIS to about 50). This means it is impossible to eat a filling a meal for less than 140 NIS or so, given the portion sizes. Bread isn't even complimentary. It is the typical "Israeli" dining experience, overpriced fare that one could buy abroad for half or a quarter of the price and likely get better quality. None of the food was bad; although the paella shrimp were not great. The real winner here is the sangria, at a reasonable price and it is tasty and strong. As a place for a date; this place is wonderful, intimate, classy and fun. A real treat, if one has already eaten a meal or hopes to go somewhere else.

This has become a favorite of ours, always sitting on the bar and enjoying the view and the special attention from the well versed bartenders. The cocktails are always great and so is the food (some portions are not that small..) If you want to feel like a tourist in Tel Aviv (in a good way) - this is the place.

This is actually the third time I've been to this restaurant, and this is definately a place of guaranteed enjoyment.
This time I came with a (very hard to please) collegue from abroad, told the friendly waiter to just serve whatever he thinks is good, and we both loved every dish!
A bit pricy, but worth it!
