Shaul Evron's sanctuary of hedonism used to be one of the greatest restaurants in Tel Aviv: a dimly lit space with arched chillings in what must have been remnants of a crusaders' hall, a huge selection of excellent wines, offered both by glass and by bottle, inspiring small dishes and delicious chunks of meat made by the talented kitchen stuff (Raleb, Itzik Cohen, Ben Tidhar and many others were fortunate enough to work there), the effective management of Shlomit and, almost always, Shaul sitted by the bar drinking wine and tasting some the dishes.

Yes, the place is a bit pricey, but the food was really excellent, and the wine was very fairly priced, all things considered. The building is beautiful and the atmosphere wasn't 'heavy'.

Unapologetic fat, unhealthy, carnivore, fine dining. We had hearty sausage (made inhouse by the chef) that came with creamy mushed potatoes and lovely mustard and pickles, great soup, lamb pasta, stew and an amazing chocolate mouse for dessert. It was too much, and we ate almost everything. A romantic expensive place.
