Yoezer, in Jaffa, is tucked away but easy to find, right across from the famous clock tower. In spite of the name, it is a restaurant (and wine bar of course) in every sense of the word.
The place looks old and decrepit, because it is. Nothing false and showy here. It is an old building, historic even, and that is part of the charm. For a restaurant in Israel to last this long, means it must be doing something right
The food is nothing less than outstanding. Shaul Evron, the owner (usually sitting at the bar over a glass - or two - of wine) knows all about food, restaurants, wines, cooking and service, and it shows.
The waitstaff are knowlegable and accommodating. Don't expect them to ask you "is everything ok?" every two minutes, but do expect them to pay discreet attention to your needs.
Somewhat pricey, but excellent value for money. A treat, and an unusual reataurant.
