younsters love to wait in line for a Humus dish out there
- although in a 4 min. walk are some 3-5 other orental rest. making the same for the same. honestly - nothing bad, but not worth rating on Trip Advisor as a local hit.

“Antithetic by definition”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

I am not sure it is the best restaurant in Tel Aviv, however it is the most authentic. As a traveler I am always after the local places and not the tourist traps and this place is definitely on the top of that list. As an Israeli that left Israel for Canada four years ago, I can say for sure that it is hummus as close to its origins as possible. There is no resemblance to the greyish paste that is sold at the grocery stores in North America.
Remember that there are two branches, the one at 1 Ha'Dolfin is closer to the Historic Jaffa, however seating is very limited. There is another branch at 12 Shivtei Israel St. This branch is larger but as humming as the other one. Expect a line around noon of about 20 minutes and expect to be seated at a table with other people. If you want to save the line show up around 11 AM or around 1 PM but keep in mind that the restaurant closes when the hummus for today is finished so the later you show up the more chance you will meet a closed door.
Our favorite is definitely the mesabaha dish which is warm hummus with chickpea beans and spices. All other dishes are excellent as well and most waiters speak English.
25 NIS ~ 7 CAD (or USD) is a steal for a dish of hummus or beans (all dishes priced the same) and a pop (soda for our friends south of the border)

This place should be a must on your itinerary if you want to taste authentic hummus

“really good hummus”

when you say hummus you say abu hassan, no need to add words.
Go there if you have time to possibly stand on queue and sit with people you don't know :)

“best houmous in Tel Aviv”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2012

I think it's the best houmous in Tel Aviv. The price is reasonable.
The only thing is that it's to noisy and the waiter thay do not give the best they could.

“The best in the world”

A place for Humus lovers and those who do not know it yet.... A small place crowded with poeple but the main thing is the taste. Will go there any time, any weather.
