“This Catit got the Cream”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

You can eat food just for fuel, or you can eat it for your soul; the type that lifts, delights, makes you shake your head in wonder at its artistry. The food at Catit is definitely in the latter. Dish after dish arrives each like a masterpiece in a fine gallery; wonderfully plated and beautifully cooked. The service is impeccable. The surroundings: Bauhaus chic. If you are fortunate enough to be in Tel Aviv, then your holiday will not be complete until you have eaten here. You chose three, four or five courses from a fixed price menu. On top of that there are the delights of the amuse bouche, through to the palette cleanser. Coupled with lovely Israeli wines, there is nothing finer in this city.

“Amazing food and great, friendly service”
Reviewed July 12, 2014 via mobile

Loved everything about Catit. It's beautiful, an oasis next to a buzzy but lovely place owned npby the same people. First and most memorable meal in Tel Aviv. The Clos de Gat Chardonnay was described as like a Montrachet and indeed it was. The vichyssoise with the crystal shrimp was divine as was the veal. The amuse Bouche with watermelon was really good and not just something thrown in to look fancy as was the palate cleanser. The bread basket was exceptional. Dessert was very good but not as good as the rest of the meal although my friend loved his. It's not cheap but I think worth every penny. Give it a try!

“Perfect but not for 12 year olds”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

Perfect subdued ambiance, perfect temperature, extraordinary service and outstanding food and presentation. We arrived at the appointed hour and were promptly seated at our table for 6. The restaurant is small and can probably only accommodate 25 at a seating. We were offered wine & cocktail lists in Hebrew or English. The wait staff then brought and explained the Tasting Dinner menu (349 shekels) for a 3 course meal (no sharing). The youngest had a look of consternation on his face as he realized there was nothing on the menu he was familiar with or wanted. Where was the hamburger, pizza or pasta? With much patience, time and effort the wait staff came up with minor modifications to the menu and got him to agree to several dishes. He rose to the challenge and enjoyed every morsel set before him. There was a vegetarian among us who was also initially presented with first and second courses with seemingly no vegetarian options. Once again minor changes were made to some menu items and she too enjoyed a delicious meal.
After drinks we were served an amuse bouche followed by the first course accompanied by baskets of delicious bread. An almond ice with mint to clear our palates arrived soon after the first course was efficiently whisked away. Main courses included seared scallops, sea bass, lamb and perfectly cooked veal filet with mushrooms. The desserts tasted as well as they looked except the Red Black & White did not live up to the others.
In all it was a terrific evening but I'd leave youngsters and veggies at home the next time I come.

“Definitely the best I have had in Israel”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

The place is small, the setting perfect. I am surprised this wonderful little gem does not have a Michelin star. The chef clearly knows what he is doing and the dishes were all superb. I was often surprised by the mixture of unexpected ingredients that in the end worked really well and tasted delicious. At this pace Catit might soon share the spotlight with places like Eleven Madison Park or Club Allard in Madrid. I could not resist, so I had all three desserts. I was not disappointed. Service was outstanding, friendly and prompt. Overall an excellent culinary experience. I will be back.

I will not describe the dishes, the pictures I took speak for themselves.

“Absolutely the best restaurant in Israel”
Reviewed May 21, 2014

Not to mention in some other major cities…Wholly original, meticulous, delicious and never ceases to surprise. Well worth the splurge (even if no more than once in a year..)
I recommend the business lunch, which in itself was hefty enough for us, but still more tangible - financial wise- than dinner.
