Great service and excellent small dishes to accompany drinks on a late Friday night
They can definitely use a better beer selection, but the cocktail list makes up for it
Try the buri ceviche - an interesting take on a dish usually made with other sea going creatures

Diego San is a very cool bar with yummy food. Their buns are incredible and overall they have a very unique and original concept.

The one good thing I can say about this place is that it certainly has style. That's also close to being the only good thing about our experience.

We arrived on a Tuesday night late. It was crowded, and our waitress was less than helpful in securing a table or even explaining when we can expect one. When we finally secured it - after intense fighting since we had to point out several times that there was a free table before we were allowed to sit. Then, having waited a solid 15 minutes before the waiter showed up, we had to wait another 20 for our drinks (turned out, he had forgotten them).

The food was very delicious, I will say that, but definitely small and on the expensive side. Besides, our waiter decided to bring toothpicks before delivering the final dish, which made it clear he had forgotten that too.

All in all, I will say this. I am used to the informal, relaxed service you normally experience in Tel Aviv. However, there is a difference between informal and friendly and annoyed and disinterested. Diego San, take notes.

Visited Diego San with a couple of friends for an early(ish) dinner at 8.15pm. We could easily get a table, but apparently it gets very busy later when there is often a DJ on.

We shared 4 sharing plates between us (large sized tapas portions), which was plenty for 3 girls - although the prices were so reasonable that you could afford to try several more. Food arrived promptly - as did the margaritas. Really interesting fusion menu. We had a ceviche dish, an asian style nacho dish (based on prawn crackers rather than nachos); fried calamari with an Asian dip, and chilli con carne steamed buns (don't knock it till you've tried it!). All were really tasty and good value.

Fascinating decor - the outside sitting area reminds you of Little Havana in Miami, but if you go to the upstairs toilets, you're in the Far East!

I would imagine it gets very loud later in the evening - which is good or bad depending on your preference.

Recommended.

wasnt sure what to expect but was definitely wow'd! had the chili con carne tacos- great, the "nachos" kinda funky but an interesting appetizer...but the cheesburgers on the steamed bun were AMAZING, absolutely heaven. would go back just for that!
