“Great Authentic Romanian Cuisine, in the Heart of Tel Aviv”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

Here you will get a true Home Style Romanian dishes, including home made variety of pickles, Romanian Kebob, Ikra, Eggplant, and Zaziki salads, Roasted Bell peppers and other great specialties.
One dish to avoid is the schnitzel, too chewee and lacks any taste.
The service was provided by two ladies that worked like ten people and were on top of every request and need.
During our visit, we got to see some top Israeli celebrities and learn that the restaurant is favored by Israeli novelties
Very nice place for lunch or dinner.

“Mamaia – The best Romanian restaurant I’ve been to in Israel”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

Small, cute place, reminds me of Israel’s good old fashioned restaurants where they make you feel welcome & dishes are filling & tasty.
I do not come from a Romanian background, but I love their food: At Mamaia we had the best Mamaliga, served with a variety of cheese & sour cream. Our friendly & kind waitress recommended that we take one plate for two since this is a heavy dish, but this one was not only delicious but also lighter than other versions I had in several restaurants. We were also served pickles, sour croute, & a shot of Tuica, a strong plum’s spirit.
The main courses we ordered are Mititei (Kebab) that was tasty & juicy served with fries, & shrimps in butter & garlic sauce, not sure if that’s a Romanian dish, but it was great.
For dessert we had Papanash – Romanian cheese doughnuts served with sour cream & cherries, which was amazing.
To summarize: great food, great service, reasonable price, if you love Romanian food this is the place for you.
