The Tayelet is the beach promenade in Tel Aviv. It goes from the Yarkon river in the north, past the old port, all the big hotels and the wonderful beaches of Tel Aviv, the yacht harbor, all the way to Yaffo in the south, 5 kilometers in all. Along the way you will find nice beach cafes where you can relax with cold wine or beer, or a tasty lunch. I myself is very fond of winding down my day with a glass of Riesling at the La Mer café across from my hotel.
If you find it a bit too long to walk, you can rent one of the city bikes, situated on stands along the promenade.

When you have a free day in Tel Aviv, during your stay in Israel, (between October and June), instead of spending the day on the beach, take a couple of hours to walk from Jaffa all the way to Hertzlia.
I can ensure you that you will enjoy every minute.

This is where you meet the World. Spent hours just watching people. However lots of things to do and bikes can easily be rented if you not feel like walking. Right on the beach. An absolute must!

This is a great place to people watch, to gaze at the sea, . And to hear spontaneous and free performances by musicians and singers of all kinds. Some of them are very good. Some of them are not ready to go professional but it is all in good fun. If you follow the whole route from North tel Aviv to Yaffa you will pass through different neighborhoods in Tel Aviv and get a taste of who lives there. You will also pass interesting eateries and the Palmach museum which is housed in a very unique structure.

A beach promenade to stroll upon. Dedicated bike lanes keep pedestrians separate from the bikes and scooters. Great for a run, walk or bike ride. Many benches to stop, sit, rest or just enjoy the ocean.

Nice pedestrian walksways, parks and beach bars lined up at this main north south boulevard from the new port to the Jaffa old city. We rented ebikes and enjoyed the ride. There is sun and shade, and also rental bike stations along the route.

Beautiful beaches. Great to walk or hire a bike or scooter. Great views stunning area. Although the beach front bars are expensive and the service not too good but the still demand at least 15% tip.

The promenade is very beautiful. It's nice to walk along the beach. It is long and clean. There are seats for rest.

Great for relaxed nightly walks after dinner in town to return to your beachfront hotel. Safe and well populated at least till midnight.
